Pretty Things - Parachute
Audience - Audience
Idle Race - Idle Race   I've said some awful things here about Jeff Lynne, and all of those things are true, backed by strong, clear arguments.  Jeff Lynne, the b'afro-ed, mutton-head who produced that wretched 80's shit and sang "Hold On Tight" is a snowballer.  Before he was in ELO, and before the Move, even, he was in a band called Idle Race that did some great Psychedelic Pop.  Lynne plays, too - Brian May stole that violin-sounding guitar stuff straight from Lynne.  Great music.

Too bad he turned into such a snowballer later.

Hey ZA, what Pretty Things releases would you recommend?  I've heard a fair number of their songs on Underground Garage satellite radio, and like what I've heard.  I know them vaguely as being kind of post-psychedlic, pre-glitter punk, and from the lyrical content and what little I've read about them, they were definitely into drugs (which scores points with me, I like my rock and roll musicians, and jazz musicians, and country musicians, hell, throw in classical composers, too, fucked up.  )    I first heard of them from the Bowie album Pin-ups, on which he covered their song, "Rosalyn".    What would you consider the essentail Pretty Things releases?  Thanks.
