Chuck Brown, yeah!  "Run Joe, Run Joe"!  All that great percussion and the shout outs, pure interactive entertainment.  I was a long-haired white boy of German descent - my people did those fucked-up dances to oom-pah music with lederhosen on after too much Bock beer.  I sho' nuff was the odd man out...
Lederhosen, oy!  Did you ever wear a pair of those?  Stiff!

I was the cutest Lederhosen wearing little gangsta check me out! And they are 100% authentic, I still own them! Was I mean looking or what.  Little ninja they called me!

Aww, what a cute lil' lederhosen-er.  That would be a great name for Kool Keith's next project  -  "Black Elvis  - The Return... In Lederhosen"  Thanks for the Go-Go, Diva!  "Gimme the bridge, Gimme the bridge"! I don't think I've heard that since...uh... After graduating from Yale, Root Boy bummed around Washington, DC for a number of years in different jobs, including one stint as driver for a Good Humor truck. One day he took a lot of LSD and went to the White House and climbed the fence. (He later explained that he "was looking for the center of the universe.") He was apprehended by the Secret Service as he ran up the lawn toward the White House. He was the first intruder since the War of 1812 to get completely over the fence.

Following his arrest, he was sent to St. Elizabeth's Psychiatric Hospital. This was the first of many visits that he would make in the coming years. The large dose of LSD he had consumed caused a psychotic break that led to schizophrenia that he would be medicated for during the rest of his life.[/i]

The Move - Shazam
The Residents - Wormwood  My current favorite Residents album - probably the sickest lyrical content of any Residents album, and all of it straight from Bible stories.  What better source for tales of incest, adultery, intoxication, lust, murder, and spilling your seed on the ground.

Awesome choices there, ZA, and yeah, that's a pretty hard one to beat for lyrical content.  I like the "He sees the sunset in our eyes and fills our skies with blue/ Satan, Satan, Satan" and "Coca-cola adds life" lyrics from Eskimo, where they are disguised as traditional Innuit chants.  The greatest bullshit ethnomusicology album ever made.

Been listening to more Damned, Dwarves, and Electric Eel Shock, with a side order of The Black Angels--Passover.  I'm a sucker for droning, druggie rock, and they are pretty damn good at it.  Also been listening to a bit of Mose Allison in the last couple of days.

A Way Of Life
« Reply #2383 on: September 02, 2007, 09:31:10 AM »
Suicide--"Dominic Christ", "Rocket Rocket USA", "Che", "Cheri, Cheri", and others.

Remember all the shitty synthpop bands of the 80s?  You can blame them on Suicide.  However, the greatness of Alan Vega and Martin Rev stands tall and makes those crimes pardonable.  These two art fags created some of the coolest shit ever, and came from the CBGBs (Hilly Kristel RIP) and Max's Kansas City scene in the 70s, back when punk was more of an attitude and an aesthetic rather than a definable "sound".   They are fucking gods among men, I tell you, and I damn well recommend you guys checking them out.  Listen to either Suicide or A Way Of Life and maybe you'll get what I mean.  Do it while inhaling copious quantities of N20, and you will hopefully "get it".  God, they are fucking great........Baby Baby Baby He's screaming the truth/ America America's killing it's youth...ahhhhhhh!!!!  these guys are AWESOME!!!!!!!  Cheri, Cheri.....Oh, Baby, I love you/ Cheri, Cheri, my comic-book fantasy.......my black leather lady..... FUCKING A!!!!!   These guys were creating this sick shit in the fucking 70s and no one fucking noticed............AHHHHHH   EEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW   FUCKING SUICIDE, MAN!!!!   THEY ARE SO FUCKING AWESOME>>>>>>>>>    I'm gonna go shoot dilaudid in Steve Brown's honor, and listen to "Dominic Christ" REAL FUCKING LOUD while I do it........here's to you, Stepcraft Tard, and GOD bless Martin Rev, and his obnoxious little spic sidekick, Alan Vega.  Ladies and Gentlemen, SUICIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck yeah, RTP,  Suicide gets ignored and there is no justifiable reason for the slight.  "Ghost Rider" is great, and I remember a song called "Diamonds and Furs"(title?) I used to like, but I can't find it on any record.  Maybe I do have the title fucked-up.

Suicide had nothing in common with the lame synth duos that followed them, they made Naked Eyes look like Shit Eyes, Soft Cell wasn't fit to clean Martin Rev's shades.

Alan Vega did a record with Alex Chilton quite a while ago, I can't find it now.  Despite trusted associates proclaiming it to be shit, I'd still like to heat it.
