There's a pic of me on my Yahoo profile.
I look forward to talking to you!

Hi Delaney ~

Well, I'm married with a 14-year-old. We're all doing great. Glad to see you made it to adulthood seemingly unscathed. Congratulations on the baby boy! Being a daddy is a very important thing to be! Email me if you'd like to chat further -- [email protected]

Take care,

Lesli

I remember you too.

You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence.

I hate this, really.  It makes me sad.  It's taken me years to cry, to remember, to realize what went down in that warehouse in Richardson.  I love the sun.

To all of you: take care.  I'm trying, as a single and loving mom, to do my best.

He does know...

He's a human being just like all of us, and everyone loves attention. I correspond with he and his family on a regular basis. Hopefully he'll stay on a healthy path once he gets out. Lord knows he's been through as much hell as many feel he put them through. How about a little compassion?  He got caught up in the game, and was praised for being the way he was in Straight. It was torture for him, and as a result he has spent the past 19 years trying to erase himself. Also, he too was just a kid when this all began for him. We are all survivors now, and need support.

I guarantee you that 99% of the people here would let you know through a PM who they were. I know what you mean though, when I first found this site, all I could do was wonder, "Do I know them?" I just wanted to find my old friends.

Glad you found this place Ang. You were one of the ones I wanted to find.

Because the internet is a communication tool that allows people the safety of pseudo?anonymity. See, not everyone wants to be found or found out. Straight and the Straight experience are not exactly things to be proud of and many people have little or no desire to disclose themselves fully for all public to know. I for one am one of those people, but it was nice to make the reconnects that I have, I just don't want my name Googled and my posts popping up, personally.

We are so great. We just celebrated our 1st anniversary. My daughter and I were sent flowers, and we went out to eat at an amazing restaurant. I got a few other things from my husband. He's a hopeless romantic. Life is good.

How are you, dear? And your brother? Shelly has my email, so send me an update on how your life is, and how your daughter is. I'd love to hear. I wish I were closer so that we could all go out to a cool restaurant in Dallas and catch up on the years. It's been a very long time.

There was always blood on those walls.
Carvings too.
Tallies...
It was the most fucked up thing I've ever experienced.
Do you remember the idiots
that really beleived
that all that torture
was "for the good of..."
and found themselves healed
through Straight?
The ones that went
on and on about
how grateful they were
for their sobriety?
The ones who could not
think for themselves anymore?
I hated those people.
I was not one of them.
I watched with eyes of horror everday.
They were mean and cruel.

Yeah. I was 15 when I went into Straight. I had already been in another 18 month boot camp. I remember it being pretty horrible when I was there. I stuck around AA a year and a half after I graduated. I didn't do "After Care" though.

I was shooting heroin by 19. I went from normal teen-age rebel to shooting meth and junk and living on the streets before the age of 20. I had years of self destructive drug use and bad choices after Straight.

It's been a long hard road but I'm me again, after a long wait, and lots of time to heal from a lot more than just Straight, but that's another story... another time.

Nice to have a new name on the list -
