No, not all Christians are against the environment. Just like not all liberals are scum sucking vermin (I know, its hard to believe something Rush Limbaugh says isnt true, but I swear it is! )

But the Christians Ive heard that are against the environement use that very excuse that god made the earth for us and we can abuse it.

The whole Bible is filled with a favor towards males. It woudl not be written that way, had men not writeen it. But because the human slant is in there, and at the time, women were not considered so great, they made it more male centered. If it is like you say and God favors all humans the same, then why is the bible written that way? Wouldnt the people write it the way god wanted and not the way they wanted it? I think if god really had written it, then there woudlnt be confusion about this.

Thats my point. I feel that because god did not personally write it, men put a slant on it they felt was necessary. I dotn feel it was and therfore I dont feel it is the exact testimnoy of god and cant believe it. I want all the info the way it was supposed to be written. And, well, i think its pretty lame.

There HAVE been female presidents. Just not USA female presidents. So no that isnt true. And most anyone dosnt like to be told what to do. Ive worked for many women and liked it. And men and liked it. Adn some i didnt. But I think you are outdated in thinking many women wouldnt like a female pres. You do not know that, and I know many women who WOULD like a female president. I think the reason men dont want one is because they dotn feel safe with a woman in charge. And pooh pooh on that. Oh, certainly it isnt just men. But when a society teaches its citezens to make women less powerful and to think of women as sex objects and docile creatures, then it isnt one person or anothers fault. It is societies fault. And we can change that one attitude at a time. Why not start with religion?

I was at Cross Creek Manor in La Verkin Utah. I graduated about five years ago now. There seem to be quite a few differences from CCM and Straight. Like I read on another forum that kids ran away. We had locked doors and they were those swipe key locks so no one really had a chance to run away. A few girls did, but were returned by the police. A couple of girls ran away and made it to Cali, but their "friends" turned them in. I also heard you guys didnt have hterapy but raps. No individual therapy? Is there a Striaght program still, or are they closed now? I cant imagine there is. Im sure they have enough WWASP programs now that they dont need straight. They have CASA, CCM, Tranquility Bay, and all that. I remeber if kids were not doing well at CCM, they woudl send them to High Impact in Mexico. They basically ran all day, ate beans and rice, and slept outside on concrete slabs slanting downhill. No blankets or pillows. No talking, and no English. Basically doing anything was breaking a rule. My good friend Latashia went there for like a couple of months. All I know is all of these places are wrong and more dysfunctional then the families that sent the kids there. Anyway, sorry about the whole rambling thing.

Oh and in case this was confusing, I was the annonymous poster. forgot to login.

Ginger,
That anon post was mine about the password. I hope Ican sort it out.

Thanks for the post. I agree. The more my parents tried to make me follow their beleifs, the more I pushed away. I guess Im just oppositional defiant in that way!

I think its hard for those parents when the kids are really getting into serious trouble. Like her buddy has a son who was murdered for not paying a meth dealer. Then her daughter started dabbling and dropping out and stuff. BUT she married this guy who is a dtsfunctional drinker and is insane. So I guess I should feel more sorry for the girl than the parent.

God the program is so bunk! I remember I told my MOm this friend of hers told me it was ok to smoke pot and do things so long as I could learn moderation and told me I coulod live with her before I went to the program. So when I was "confessing", which you have to write a letter of confession when you get there, I told her. She freaked out on her friend and to this day it is uncomfortable every time we see her. And I remember one of the rules was you could not talk bad about the president or the USA. Fucking whatever! The rules were insane. And the cleaning rules were insane to. You got written up if you had one spot on the chrome. I am a cleaning lady now so I have to clean well. But I still never clean THAT well! God they are crazy fucking mormons!

Even my mom who spent clost to 60,000.00 on the program, admits she was wrong. Im glad she isnt ignorant and dilusional like crazy program lady. God dont you see what is going on here? I feel sorry for you and for any of the people who you refer to the program. Their kids arent going to get better and you are helping them waste their money and destroy thier kid. Bravo. Way to be a good friend!

K lady! Geez. Well, the contract I posted AS I SAID BEFORE was GIVEN to me by the PROGRAM in the seminar PC1. Those WERE the guidelines they gave us. And I know better then anyome cuz I went through PC1 twice. Got he sma estupid contract guideline BS twice. So its not mine. AND THE PARENTS AND THERAPIST AND FAM REP ALL HAVE TO AGREE ON THE CONTRACT. How many times do I have to say that?

Oh, if you didnt write na extensive contract, parents flipped out. And no, I wrote the contract actually believeing that after CCM that contract would be EASY to follow! Little did I know...

And my theraspist and my parents wanted it all in there and if I disagreed, we would argue till I agreed to do it. What was I gonna do? Say no? Yeah that dosnt work too well with the program. They used to tell me when I would bring up how my step mom is unreasonable about rules and guidelins, that I was wrong and I had to do what she said because she was my parent. And like I said before NO ONE I KNOW EVER USED THEIR HOME CONTRACT. Not one person. I followed it the longest, and i still didnt get to level 6. So yeah, why dont you just wake up to the fact that their way just may not, uh, work. Just because the program came up with it dosnt mean it is effective.

Lady, you are trippin! Women are more demeaned now than in biblical times!? Are you crazy?

YOUR bible protrays Mary as a scandelous hooker. And YOUR bible never once says they consider her an apostle. Your great book left that out. Hey, I dont think women are scandelous evil creatures. Christ was the ONLY one who made women valued. And the Jewish rabbis at the time were angry because Jesus did that.

It is a perversion of the text for the men who wrote it to only refer to god as a man. God is not a man. God does not have connotations of male or female. So if i choose to refer to god as a women, I am being sacreligious? Hmm.....

Ok, you are so confusing. How can you say that women were given rights and were treated liberaly when you just said that they would never follow a woman Christ? When you say they wer treated better then women in other societies, that dosnt mean they were treated well. now in the middle east, if a women commits adultry, BOTH the man and woman are murdered. Before only the woman was. WELL! That means women are treated SO much better now! Im sorry, but I just cannot listen to a message from a bunch of sexist, hypocritical, lying people. The Catholic church is leaving things out of the bible. I want ALL teh testimony on the bible, not just what they feel I need to know. And women were raped all the time, beaten openly, told to be subserviant and do their "duty" as a woman back in the day. Tell me, how is that being treated well?

Have I not said like three times in this thread that I hate organized religion? Not just Christianity, but ALL organized religion? I am not in favor of Hindus or Christians or whomever. If a religion causes harm and injustice to others then I am against it.

Interesting...
Thanks Ginger. Good post. I also agree wiht what anon wrote. If parents would simply teach their kids well from the beginning and teach by example also, their kids might not be depressed and might not dabble in dangerous drugs.

Truth be told, when I was in high school, mostly my friends and I smoked pot. When I went to CCM, my friends started doing and selling crystal. My husband did it a couple of times, but he has no desire to ever do it again. Just because you smoke weed dosnt mean you will turn into a crazy drug addict! Ive smoked weed on and off since I was 13. Never even tried meth, heroin, coke, ect. I have no desire to either. I feel natural drugs that come from the earth are here for us to use. They are not manufactured processed crap. And my sister who smoked weed on and off has never done anything but shrooms and pot.  I have friends who did try other drugs, got involved with coke, meth, ect. But now that they are older and a little wiser, they dont do that anymore.

Look, perhaps I havnt made myself clear...
Ive done my research. Ive read "What the Bible is all about", "Mere Christianity", ect. It still dosnt make sense to me. Not that Im an idiot and dotn understand the "Jackob begoteth joseph who begoteht so and so" and on and on. I understand the writing. I just dotn think the stories add up. It is hypocritical and strange.

My neighbor is the sweetest most awsome dude ive met. He is a Christian. We talk about it sometimes when I BRING IT UP. He never forces his beliefs on me or makes me uncomfortable. So I do know some Christians who arent assholes. However, I know Hindus who are great as well, and Buddists, and athiests, and....

God is not a man. Why do they call god a "him" then? If they are so comfortable wiht women why not call god "her"? Cuz the bible dosnt want men following a god who would even be considered a woman. Women cannot be priests in the Catholc church. Why? And no apostles (that we even know of) were women. Why didnt god choose to have a dughter? Becuase can you imagine a society so hateful and demeaning towards women following a WOMAN diety? Heaven forbid! No, other than mother mary, the most prominent improtant biblical people were men. The bible was written by men. Its a male dominated thing. Not that I have anything against men. Just that religion has a tendancy to make women seem like devious evil creatures.

Hey buddy,
I feel for you. I just recently came to terms thanks to the people on these forums, with the shit that happened in the program. Been out five years almost now and I still think about it alot. I also really looked at my childhhod as well and came to terms with the abuse I expereinced from my step mom. I know how it feels to feel cheated and used. To feel like you were lied to and (it seems) like no one cares, especially not the people who caused you the depression and anger that you were sent to the program for.

But cheer up good buddy! The great thing about it is there are people who care! The people here care and we are doing are best to get these shit holes shut down. And you can make different choices with your kids and not be a controlling ass. The rule of thumb I use is whatever my parents did to me, I do the opposite for my daughter! Works wonders. And there are good people out there who care and are fighting the good fight so to speak! The world is full of bastards, yes. But it is also full of good and happiness and non judgemental people who love others and want a good world. We just gotta keep fighting and hope for the best! Keep your chin up!!
