I can tell you this about Max's dad, John: he is a narcissistic jerk. During Parent Workshops, he would drive all the way from town to Wasega Road, the road that leads to HLA, park his car, and jog down the dead center of the road at just the time the other parents would be driving to the workshop so they could see him jogging with his shirt off. Then, after enough parents and employees had seen him, he would drive back to the Holliday Inn, shower, and return to the workshop, where he would say to other parents "I guess you saw me running this morning. I run every morning. I'm in really great physical shape." It's no wonder his poor kids were so fucked up, having such an attention hog for a father.
