I listened to Love and Rockets, Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, The Cure, Yaz, Echo and the Bunnymen etc... Most of the stuff I used to in my "druggie past"

Apparently I was considered "cool" by some staff members because my musical tastes were new wave, punk rock, original goth, and industrial. I got away with it, but I still had to dress like a total dumbass...

Yeah the first day was a real shocker, including the whole lets change your clothes deal. I had on pants that were a rusty orange brown with a white cure t-shirt. They of course took my t-shirt away, (i never saw it again)and gave me, of all things, a purple button down dress shirt, and made me tuck it into my orange brown pants. I'm sure I looked like a complete loon, but that was the idea I guess.

I would always sing the cocteau twins to myself my first few months. I had just gotten my first album by them a month before and I was totally in love with it. [ This Message was edited by: jane on 2005-01-07 14:14 ]

God, all I remember is most of the guys had colored t-shirts with the pocket. I wanted a black one instead of canary yellow. Does anyone remember using Carmex, lip balm? It's like the only item they would let us keep on us, until we started "abusing it" by putting it on our lips out of pure bordome. They took it away and said it was becoming a problem. Does anyone remember this?? My lips hurt just thinking about it.[ This Message was edited by: jraypdxxx on 2005-01-07 16:29 ]

I have laughed more since coming to this site then I have in the last year..

For you girls that were in Straight in 1989-1990...did you know a blonde girl named Sessy?

For whomever mentioned having to tuck your shirt in - I remembered all the clothes but forgot we always had to tuck them in...I don't think I had ever tucked a shirt in before that....
