I'm all for getting TBS's/RTC's shut down but you guys are just plain dumb and make this forum look stupid with this particular thread.
When you are on the ropes course, staff is belleying you from the ground. you are in a harness attatched through a rope that runs through a pulley down to someone else in a harness who is clipped into the ground/wall/tree. it's climbing 101. the pictures dont show staff because the staff is on the ground. and technically, you dont even need staff to be the ones on the ground connected to you, any student with minimal instruction can handle the task. i was belleying my 180lb+ family members on rock walls since i was a <100lb eight year old. you can get lifted off the ground when ppl fall but your clipped in so it's not big deal, it's kinda fun and amusing actually.
those pics dont show the ground, therefore not the staff.
What is with every for-profit, extra-judicially contracted gulag having a ropes course?
Just to lend themselves legitimacy through advertisement of another pseudo-scientific “therapy” (for which they need not employ high-salary demanding, accredited medical personnel)?
Or is it something deeper: yet another means to induce Stockholm Syndromatic bond between its captives and its tormenters, and redirect captives’ concentration onto a menial, immediate task, thereby interfering with their grasp of the “bigger picture”—a basic component of thought reform.
definitely not. they create self-confidence and help eliminate certain fears, like the fear of heights. Basic school in any public school...even watching TV creates lack of ability to see the bigger picture by focusing on something menial.
have you ever even ben on a ropes course? were you that kid that cried for mommy the second you climbed the ladder? were you that spoiled city girl that got to the "hard part", gave up, and were left dangling there crying untill you grew some balls and finished it? were you the the fattass that passed out on the zipline from terror, thinking you were gonna break the thing? ropes courses are made so that little kids can complete it, and the cables/supports are usually rated to hold the weight of a grand piano. unless you have some serious health problems you should not have any trouble. are you really that much of a pussy that you think ropes courses are abusive? they are fun, not abusive. It doesnt necessarily even have to have a therapeutic component to it. they are FUN. everyone i know looked forward to doing them. i would do one again any day just for shits & giggles.
i love fornits for what it it, but you guys need to grow up, grow some brains and wait till your balls drop before you get into the bussiness of trying to shut places down. get some perspective so you know who and what to target, how to do it and what to say without sounding like a frivilous immature fool that deserves a little schooling and "therapy" you are currently being very counterproductive. this thread amounts to fornits shooting itself in the foot and then using that foot to kick itself in the teeth. stuff like this really hurts fornit's credibility - not that it had much left anyway since Che and his obnoxious porn posting, nazi-TBS satire site creating, "lets take down the whole industry at any cost" counterparts came around. parents a lawyers will look at this thread and say "they really are just disgruntled kids looking for revenge...there is no case". and i'm not even getting into well-proxied's foolishly misguided post with the kids names. that will truly hurt fornits along with the cause in the end; you guys have no idea what kind of media shit-storm may come out of this.
in layman's terms you dumb americanos can understand: quit carpet bombing anything that moves and buy some friggin smart weapons. {...ones with lasers on their heads lol}
