Deborah - in all respect, I ask you to PROVE IT!
I gave my definition of abuse. I need no more proof. Using that definition, all programs are abusive.
And:
You yourself said you HAVE NO EXPERIENCE of WWASP schools. Are you not basing your judgment on what is written here or in newspapers?
First of all, I don't consider them schools, but rather juvenile warehousing facilities. My son returned from a "prestigous, college-prep TBS" in Ga, five credits behind his peers, while scoring As and Bs there.
Yes, I base some of my judgments on news articles, just as you are and other's do. My personal experience is repeated over and over in every news article published. My research indicates that all facilities use the same baseline philosophy. Some may be more abusive or more covert with their abuse.
And:
Most, but not all posters are from PURE.
Prove that!! I don't think the statement is accurate. And, what if they are? Your point? How long have you been posting here?
Anon:
The rest seem to be parents that believed their little darling when they said they were being abused.
I think you are a child hater, thus your affiliation with WWASP.
And:
I look for facts, not fiction.
I think you look for "facts" to support your fiction.
And:
PURE isn't even close to being in the same league with WWASP. What a joke!
The joke is that you missed the point, which was not that they are "in the same league". They are two entities within the same industry. And both's integrity is questionable.
And:
So, Deborah and others, if that's what you want to create for yourselves, No one's going to throw you a life preserver.
What? Exactly what am I creating for myself? "No one's" going to throw me a life preserver? What in god's name are you talking about? Never mind, I don't even want to hear your twisted imaginings.
And:
WWASP is NOT Straight, it is not CEDU, it's not even close to anything else out there. The only similarity is that they work with troubled teens.
Work with? Read the policies of any program or facility. They're all, more alike than different. WWASP just happens to be in the spotlight just now. I hope each and everyone of them have their day under the heat of an interregation lamp.
And:
Instead of sitting behind a computer, find out where you can hear from the teens and families who can show you the success stories. It's not here in cyberspace!
You assume that I haven't heard "success" stories. I have. I also understand the mechanics of multi-level marketing, more accurate, Ponsi schemes, and WWASP sits on top of this one. I don't care to hear stories when the person sharing stands to gain monetarily from their "testimonial".
I have also heard many stories from disappointed parents.
I decided some years ago that I had nothing in common with program parents. I am repulsed by the very essence of who they are and they don't care for me. That is where it stands. Hearing another "success" story will not change my opinion of WWASP or the industry in general.
How arrogant of you to assume to know what I need, but then that is the way of those who support the warehousing of teens.
