This is fucking classic.

Remember! Argue with the programmie until his own words damn him, and then stop arguing.

Seriously, previous anon, there is no reason at all for you to respond to things like

Quote from: ""TheWho""
you need to gain respect from people by how you treat them

(As if this fuckhead was worth any respect at all.)

Quote from: ""TheWho""
and so far you are acting like a spoiled little snot who doesn’t have a clue about the teen help industry nor know what you are talking about…

THIS, to somebody who was abused there, recently from the sounds of things.

[Paul]PARENTS! THIS MAN WANTS CONTROL OF YOUR CHILDREN![/Paul]

I take back what I said about you being the Iraqi Information Minister. Baghdad Bob, for all his counter-factual pronouncements and laughable claims, was outrageously funny. You're not funny. You're just royally fucking sick.

In reply to the original post, one of my friends in the program is no longer with us, he chose to take his own life instead.  I also have a few friends that are considered successful by program standards (a few were even on staff) that cutting on themselves is a form of relief.  There is also the standard drug use.  For me, I talk about it to close friends about it, write about it, post here occasionally (read fornits ALOT), and stew about it in my mind.  On a day to day, I just generally try not to think about it, to get on with my life and put that behind me, but there is still a lot that I'm angry about, and have a feeling it will be that way for a long time.

On the contrary, Oz, it can teach kids to be more introspective and is thus conducive to improving one's self image.

...

If writing lists of times when you felt bad about yourself or role playing your most degrading memories in an isolated monitored environment as the kids in what it takes to pull me through did, or being held down till you wet your pants as lulu corter was or spending weeks on end in total silence as mia in come back did is so life affirming why have no consensual  adults signed up for it?

BTW who you forgot to log in

That wasnt me, but I did respond to that post with:

"self image is a huge thing that kids come away with. That in itself is worth the stay."  Expanding on the Self-image discussion.

99% of all people who have ever gone postal never saw the inside of a program... I dont believe you will find a correlation.

Just from reading.  The overwhelming majority of the people who go off the deep end were dealing with issues but never attended a program.  I am leaning more towards medication issues (in early childhood) as a cause.

But... the overwhelmingly majority of people never attended a program.  It is the relative percentage that you need to look into.

I think you'll find:  in program at some point in the past?  --> Higher likelihood of self-abuse, abuse of others, postal tendencies.
