In a weird way sometimes I think its deeper than that, some kind of societal cancer almost. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It's all based in fantasy, and myth, and what "feels" right. I think a family session of MDMA with a therapist would be much more productive at tearing down barriers and  getting communication going than a *mindfuck* trip. I wonder if I can sell that as a program?

Edit: I wont use "camping" again.. I dont want anyone to take an unintended meaning from my choice of words again.   :-?   :P

Probably. Though they take to LGATs to fuck with your head now, no need for drugs.

One thing I wonder is why everyone feels that barriers are something to be torn down? A lot of people need more than they have and everyone needs barriers to some degree.

Disclosure isnt a fucking cure-all!

More spinning. You're a pro or just persistant.

The crux of the problem, what makes a program a program, has not been addressed. You also can not correlate complaints about Harvard or MIT with someone being kept coersively against their will in a facility that only breaks them down as a GOAL of their 'treatment' and forces disclosure to elicit behavior modification! They are completely different things.

The problems with a programs is they are not merely therapeutic camping trips or therapeutic schools, respectively, they're camping trips that use the austere environment to break them down and keep them scared and isolated, and facilities that isolate them and use LGAT methods, level systems, and BITE-model conditions and activities by staff to break them down, make them disclose everything, and force them into compliance... while keeping them scared and isolated.

Oh, and before I forget...

See, that was one of my points.  I am sure there are places like that and some of those things can happen,  I am not saying they dont exist or dont happen, but they didnt happen where my daughter went.  She improved academically, improved self esteem, motivated, happier.  She keeps in touch with some of the counselors.

When she speaks for herself that anecdote might actually matter - as an anecdote.

One of the counselors from a program I was at was really big with keeping contact with kids, she had her own myspace page and would call kids all the time aparently. It ended up coming out that she had been sleeping with some of the kids while at the facility and afterwards. I'm just saying, if you went to a 28 day rehab would you keep in contact with the counselors? Be careful parents! (if you truly do care, and I hope thats the case)

Cindy do you think your daughter would be willing to come on here and sing her programs praises?

In the meantime are you okay with zero regulation for any industry?

Also you still have some claims you've yet to back up.

How about that 'deluxe edition' release of Live at Leeds, Who?

Is that some good live playing, or what?? Goddam, but The Who could fuckin'  jam! :smokin:

There's a lot of good music on those two CDs that was left off of the original LP release way back when. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the vinyl medium as much as the next old dude but this is a damned good "record" here. If you haven't heard it yet, you neeed to, Who.

Karen where have you been all day? Hard at work? On your way home make sure to pick up some Gerbers and pampers for yourself. In the meantime would you mind bringing up all the countless examples of you committing libel against people?
