Use facebook to find some of the CALO Alumni. I doubt you'll get many parents to speak as lawsuits happy CALO fruitcakes seem to like to sue everyone in arm's length.  

As for the kids at the program....

Of course they look happy.. You don't think the kids are dumb enough to tell you what they really feel do you? If they did that they'd be in a heap of shit so deep they'd never escape it.

I guess the daughter of the aforementioned parents wasn't so happy; she saw fit to escape!

And, apparently her parents weren't so happy with how things were working out at CALO since, once their daughter was eventually found and returned to her family safe and sound, they pulled her from the program.

And... apparently CALO wasn't too happy about the consequent loss of tuition monies, 'cuz — despite having lost track of this teenager for some length of time — they then sued the parents for breach of contract.

Don't know if you ended up sending your child to CALO, but I am willing to chat privately. I am a CALO parent - I might be able to reassure you (without being vilified publicly by anti-treatment zealots.)

P.S. I question Curious George's veracity and I find it hard to believe he is a CALO parent. ( I wasn't aware he was claiming to be such until I noticed this thread.) In any case, he has not contacted me. I am not aware of any parental concerns about nor efforts to rally parents against CALO. That action is a non-starter.

I exchanged a small number of PMs with George and I *do* believe he is for real. It really shouldn't be any surprise that he did not contact you ... given your assertively pro-CALO stance. Perhaps more pertinently, you were not posting around the time that he was active here.

There were a small handful of other CALO parents who also put out feelers along lines similar to what George expressed. Given Ken Huey's allegedly litigious nature, I imagine they kept their more in-depth discussions off the threads.
