Cool seeing ya'll back around here. Not so sure I'm comfortable w/ the idea of Fornits as therapy. But, if you find it helpful to vent, why then by all means do so.

If anybody wants to keep on the the blow by blow or 'where are they now' check out the HLA and Cascade forums. That's where Rudy Bentz and that dude Saner landed up. I understand HLA is about to shut down too now, but the rats who jump ship always just find another ship.

Nope.  Rudy Bentz is a Principal at a Native American School outside of Santa Fe.  Appears he left the Waldorf School rather abrubtly.  Jill Bentz owns an art gallery in Santa Fe.

My, my...what a highly evolved specimen you are...oh wait, let me guess...my mother is a highly evolved specimen.  I'm done with our little chat.  You're an idiot.

Did he have her mixed up w/ Andrea from PFRR, maybe?

Next guy calls her Ms. Sullivan????

In case you guys are reading here, please take a little advice. Skip the next couple of seminars and toughlove parent hategroup meetings. Catch up on some sleep. Seek out information and opinions other than program propaganda. Here's an idea actually read the book before commenting on the issue. Maia has done her homework. She's not a layman gadfly like I am and she's not directly involved in the industry as you are. She's a bona fied, qualified and respected investigative journalist, specializing in drug treatment and health issues.

Rudy Bentz, otoh, has as his only credential the same as Chuck Dederich, Joe Ricci and Art Barker; they all were skidrow drunks or junkies who became evangelical cult gurus. That's it. That's their entire claim to expertise.

We will make mistakes. Learning from them doesn't make us heros. It only gives us a passing grade on the evolutionary scale.

The Rudy B. post was in response to this.  Sorry about the lack of proper sequence.

Rudy B. was not a skidrow drunk...just your basic socially accepted alcoholic.  Couldn't get through the day without his scotch.  Right, Rudy?  You remember your Johnnie Walker (on a good day) with your Ranier Ale chasers??  Ooops.  I forgot.  You have no memory pre-Cedu.  Or shall I say selective memory?

I didn't come here to argue with you...just to express my opinion, which has been expressed, so I bid you "adieu".  Have a happy life.

Hey, "anon".  What's with the recurring refernces to Communism, etc? It's getting old and rather offensive.  Is it simply your attempt to be humorous?  OK  haha...let's move on.

I do not "slam capitalism".  I'm just suggesting with the track record of the existing and former "for profit" schools, perhaps it's worth considering a "not for profit" whose motivation is certainly more clear.  Yes, there are "not for profits" that have not always acted above board, but those are the exceptions.

And yes, I'm an old(not so)"lefty" who is sorry that the 60's are over, but, no, I don't miss the Soviet Union. And yes, I believe in getting a paycheck.  I even get a fairly nice one. Are you on some kind of "Commie hunt". I think you need update to a new enemy.  It seems that you're the one whose missing the "Comrades".  No one to rag on.  Can you say "McCarthyism"??

Having worked for a number of extremely successful non profits over the years, I can assure you that the "for profit " route is NOT the only way to be successful.

"Non profits" are businesses, many with significant budgets. Simply stated, their main motivation is to provide a humanitarian service, not to make a profit. And they are accountable as such.

9
And what's your motivation?  Helping "out of control" kids?  Or making good on your investment.  And who decides which kids are "out of control"?  And exactly whose "control" are they "out of"?  Whose call will that be?

10
I'd still like to know why they were fired from Swift River.  Were they also fired from Hidden Lake? And why?  And does the "dry drunk" refernce mean that Rudy doesn't suck down the scotch anymore??

11
That's fairly accurate.  He started at Cedu Running Springs in 1980.  He was around 30 or 31.  It was his first real "grown up" job.

12
Congratulations to all of you that helped make it happen.

The abrupt announcement, leaving kids and parents in a state of frenzy shows just how much Cedu really cared, doesn't it.  When the bucks are gone......

13
How can you be so certain that your son is lying to you?  How can you be so sure that this priest can be trusted?  I think you'd better re examine your take on the situation.  What if you're wrong?

14
And are "promiscuous boys" sent away??

"Feminism" is not your enemy.  If you think it is, you have a lot to learn.
