Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / "Funny" moments?
« on: July 11, 2003, 09:28:00 PM »
I remember smashing a guys head against the cement floor and watching him bleed - that was damn funny.  Hadn't even been there a week, but boy they didn't like me, coming STRAIGHT outta jail fights . . .I wasn't going along with the show I guess. ::kiss::

Not much else I can think of - that place was Hell.
Like I've posted before I told them within hours to take me back to jail - I actually wanted to go back to jail.  Tell me that's not bad.

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / any good days that you can recall?
« on: July 09, 2003, 08:30:00 PM »
Straight up -

When I was 17 living on the street in Plano(zeig heil) Texas, I was arrested for that evil weed (about a 1/4 lb.) and court ordered into Straight.
My parents (especially Mother) equated smoking pot with using heroin or cocaine - plus they wanted someone else to deal with their "problem".

Their answer was to throw me out at 16 - even though I worked part-time and was doing more than O.K. in school.

Anyway, G.Duncan bro., I noticed that when I was in jail, that's what everyone WANTED the most (lots of cold drinks (MMMMMM ICE), and getting to work in the kitchen).  Coincidence?

We all knew deep down inside our soul, that the first time we walked in the main room and saw that sideshow - that we were incarcerated . . . we were stuck.
For as long as I live I will never forget that chilling first time I saw people acting like they were rabid zombies - some looking like they were completly out of their mind.

Within an hour I'd guess I told them to take me back to jail, and I was told basically the only way is if I did some serious physical harm to someone.  And would be charged with a felony assault. ::bandit::

Welcome to fantasy land -

 ::rainbow::
It's nice to see educated, well-thought out responses on this board, as opposed to people like Powerful Attituede's bizaree dogmatic rantings.

"Freedom fighters" - Anon???
What a big joke.

Anon, as a fellow poster scripted, ". . . You need to go forth and think for thyself."

Ginger,

Very H. Hesse like quote - I love it.
The Sadist.
It took me awhile to flip in my brain to decipher, but I think I see what he's saying.
"Nor can he grant to others the mystery of their personality, the validity of their inner self."  That was the tough one.

Disneyesque world view - I am definetly going to use that one.  It's rich.

Thanks for the refer ::bigsmilebounce::

It's a cat circus but I love 'em all.

Hi everybody,

I'm curious how ya'll feel about the wars we're engaing in?

Seeing Rumsfeld's :wstupid:

I pray it will be over soon but we all know better.  Many are saying that we will have a presence there for at least 5 years.
The question is, how long will the American people continue to watch our young people die, sometimes in real time, on a daily basis . . .
and still believe that the cause is just?

Peace and best wishes to you all on this holiday -and my prayers go out especially to you with friends/family in harms way.  May they be safe and come home soon.
We appreciate their sacrifices.

Hey Morli,

Sherri Riley and her slack-jawed husband. :wstupid:

They were a scary, wannabe televangelistic fucking types.  Reciting Straight's neo-religious bullshit until they were out of breath.
It's so bizarre, but out of the hundreds of people I saw there, those are two of a handful that I can remember by face.

I still remember what they look like after about 14 years (less than half my life)!
He was a short little fuck (face like a hog in a vice), and she was kinda pretty (shoulder length black hair) - taller than him  :cry2:

It's people like those who end up with last names like Bush, Rumsfeld, Ridge, Rice, Scalia, Thomas, Cheney, NEED I Go on. . .

It's amazing to remember the degree of power that they had over our lives - it still makes me shiver sometimes.

Peace.

Hello new friend and welcome to our crazy house :nworthy:

Not really happy seeing people attacked on this board!
Especially someone who is reaching for their first time, sharing similiar BAD experiences in that Hellhole.
How dare anyone demand to know the identity of someone else on this post.

We are here to laugh, cry, and remember, and put some of this stuff behind us for good.
At least that's why I think most of us come here.

I sent rocketscience person a personal note, and told them to ignore the jerks and assholes here.
And welcomed him/her back in hopes of sharing - because we all know . . . you had to be there to understand what it was like.

Quit picking on people - I didn't think that was your style?

Anyone is welcome here.  I think that was Kathy's philosophy.

Hi Morli,

Glad you were able to work at a job that gave you some healthy, quiet non-flourecent time by yourself.
A rare treasure in that place, and something that we all need sometimes.

As far as the dinner, yes it was indoors.
It was in the main room with all the cardboard steps on the wall.
Parents were there and man was that place packed!
We all set up folding tables around the room to eat at, and it was all being served on the south wall ( a long buffet style set up).

No idea what date - I think I was still on first phase, and like the others we never knew what date it was.  That always drove me nuts! (can't even read a Bible much less a newspaper). ::cheers::

Yummy!

To Morli,
Do you remember the dinners they served us from "The Daily Grind " catering service for dinner?  What was that mad cow stuff, anyway?

Like many other of us who were forced into business' run by Straight parents, I ended up working (child labor) for one of the parents of them before I ran away.
.
It was constant eyeballs watching us.

I was caught talking to a cute girl at work one day (a customer's daughter). It could have been a 100 year old Strom Thurman in drag for all the 5th phase fellow employee could have cared.)

I got reemed in group for that actually right before I bailed.

Anyway, Mo please tell me if you recall that horrid spaghetti buffet. ::birthday::

Like you, I am trying to find others who were there at the same time as myself.

Peace to all.

Mo,

I too, would love to share some lovely, quivering, sweaty donkey balls with you (and especially with the parents who actually bought it all).

Greetings Don,

Gotta agree with you about the dating thing.

Before I was trapped in there, I had been dating a beautiful, drop dead, sweet blonde  ::kiss:: (brunets and redheads are great, too!

- - - -Don't get mad at me ladies, I know you love you're hunky boys, too.

Anyway, someone higher than myself in the program who was on 4th phase, told everyone of this fact.
The fact that I had sex, and not been married.
17 - big shock.
Was I supposed to feel guilty about this?
Wish I could remember his damn name.

" . . . he had sex - but the're not married!"
It turned out he was a past wannabe druggie "friend" of mine.

I actually didn't even know his dumb ass, he simply went to the same  :smokin: HIGH :smokin:  school.

I too had a HUGE CRUSH on a few of the girls, and I think they knew it.
Playing baseball in Richardson Texas, we had quite a few activites that weren't allowed.

Amanda Arnold and Dawn something.
They were both really sweet, and were just waiting for a way out - like myself.
We had a few interactions that staff wouldn't have appriciated!

Ginger,

You are the best!  Great Posts!

I'm reminded of the days long ago that I was reading Kant, and felt like my head was spinning for an hour or two until I had a glimpse of what he was saying.
Having to flip it over and over again in my mind.
Voila, there it is.

Kant was a bitch to understand sometimes, but in the end it was insightful as hell.
Your writing is very eloquent.
You've written some very insightful words that many of us appreciate I'm sure - as do a lot of us on this forum.

Peace and good will to all.
