Ed Cons Who Refer to HLA After Abuse Claims
Anonymous:
Ed Cons are allowed to show up for the Vulcan Challenges as well. That blew my mind.

As a former staff member I can say that having consultants in Reals was always something that was uncomfortable. It was a bit of a dog and pony show for certain. I wonder if there is anything in the enrollment package that stated there would be visitors in group sessions. I also wonder if this is a violoation of any state regulations. It is certainly unethical.

This is the closest thing I know of in the ORS regs:
(d) Children shall not be used for the purposes of soliciting funds for the institution, nor shall children be used in connection with any advertisement or publicity without the consent of the child and the parent(s) or guardian(s).*
They really need a section on Consumer Rights. Utah doesn't even address this issue. I assume they believe that the programs will operate by standard ethics of the mental health industry.

I'm guessing they guessed wrong?

I wonder if all the parents signed off on those pictures on the website? How about when the ed cons would come and the kids would be forced to give "testimonials" about how great HLA is?
