That's not true.  She visited campus, sat in Realizations and knew about restrictions.  I don't know if she would say different or not, but she knew exactly what was going on at HLA.

If she knew all this and still sent kids there she should be named in the lawsuit, exposed publicly and, in my opinion, caned in the town square.

I remember the "big day" when all the Ed Cons came. Kids on restriction did manual labor to make everything look nice then they were hidden away.

I had to go pretend to be having an impromptu poetry read in the gym while they were touring there. Then we were sent back to Reals.

OH! I forgot this, but that day we had 3 or 4 strangers (I assume Ed Cons) sit in on our Reals and out of NOWHERE my counselors accuse my of being bulimic, which was bullshit and they knew it.

They had me crying, I was so frustrated at being used like that (guess it was a "slow news day" for my PG and they needed SOMETHING to talk about.)

So, I'm all indignant and honestly offended at this accusation, and crying from frustration, and some random Ed Con lady mistakes my tears of anger for tears of guilt and jumps in and starts trying to psychoanalyze me!

That was definitely a highlight of humiliation. EVERYONE but the Ed Cons KNEW I didn't have a eating disorder.

Their only "proof" was that I usually wore my hair down and then that week I pulled it back in a ponytail. Until then I had no clue that wearing your hair up in hot weather meant you vomit up your food... oh HLA, you taught me so much.

Oh yeah, as soon as the Ed Cons left the room my counselors completely dropped the subject of bulimia and I NEVER heard a SINGLE WORD about it after.

Being degraded, humiliated, and slandered for the amusement of self-righteous strangers and THEN being forced to perform like a trained seal for them... all to BENEFIT the place you would give your right arm to escape.... Nothing quite compares.

It sounds to me like HLA and other programs were every bit as good at conning the EdCons as they were at conning the parents.  Even if an EdCon visited campus and sat in on sessions and knew about some restrictions, that does not mean they had an accurate picture at all.
The burden of proof of showing that an edcon knew there was harm going on, or even that the program was not as represented, would be hard to meet. Especially if parents and kids did not give negative feedback to the EdCon post-program.
If Rhea thought a kid was being harmed, that kid would not be sent to HLA.  SHOULD she have known? That's a different matter.

People arent that stupid, they knew. My experience of ed con day is no different then marys. One big dog and pony show.
