Well whomever you be,
Can't help but wonder why you keep asking.
Its been said Josue's claims are bogus. Apparently you don't want to believe this, or her; so why do you keep asking?
I assume,  just so you can keep the thread from falling into forum oblivion; the same reason it?s been bounced like a rubber ball - up and down, up and down.
I imagine everyone has seen it and there?s nothing more to be said. So what?s the point?

That's strange Anon, I don't recall seeing any formal (or even casual) explanation from Burnett and Rogers.  Do you?  And BTW, aren't you just the slightest bit amused with folks who think talkin' outta both sides of their mouth is how to win friends and influence people?

What kind of Formal response/explanation do you want? Casual, you got. As for Formal, I can't imagine what you expect on a forum that anyone would call Formal.

Who's trying to win friends or influence people by lying and hypocrisy; which is what I take it you mean to be saying.

If you Really care what Burnett or Rogers has to say, why don't you call and talk to them about it?

If you are actually only trying to find a clever way to call them lying hypocrites, why bother with being coy?

Out with it!!

Why not start a whole new thread - Burnett and Rogers, the lying hypocrites?

Carey and company will just love you for it.

Now, now, mi amigo (or is it amiga?) let's just stay focused on the question instead of trying to convert it into another I HATE CAREY song and dance.  The fact is there was no explanation, casual or otherwise.  Just a bunch of personal accusations and rather demeaning holier-than-thou preaching to the choir posts, as I seem to recall.  Of course, feel free to correct me if I am wrong.  As for the hypocritical stuff, that's more or less a matter of interpretation but from where I sit, that's the picture I see emerging.

as you point out:
that's more or less a matter of interpretation

Its the best your gonna get. If you want more, you'll have to remain dissatisfied; Or, make the calls I suggested.
That might get a better result.
If you aren't interested enough to make the effort, than again, I wonder why you keep asking?

Is this what ALA is all about.  Are they forcing Christianity down the throats of teens.  Taking them off to Mexico and holding them captive until "they believe."  I myself am a Christian, but it is by choice, the only way it is meant to be.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to ask for prayers for my son Douglas who is in Mexico now and for his family who continues to pray for him back home that his heart will be softened and he will remember who he is Christ. That he will turn his life over to him and be a warrior for the Kingdom of Heaven. I ask that he will be able to turn away from the enemies lies and deceit. I Thank You Father for the knowledge that you have the power to set this young man's heart on fire for the Word of God. I pray that you will give him a desire to serve you and only you. I ask that you help heal this family and the hurts that have been caused as we have struggled with this precious boy. I Thank You for reminding me at one of the most difficult times in our lives that all things are possible through you. In Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

Well, Karen what say you? Does ALA accept involuntary placements or not?

gosh, i would certainly have to agree with this anon.  all teens are self centered by nature.
 hey, wasn't this already labeled ODD!?
And,
i'm terribly sceptical of people who God this and God that, God is the answer to everything.  Too many people just hide their deceit behind religion.  Yes, i believe in God and that there is right and wrong. BUT I still remember the day that the preacher on sunday morning was bitching out the congregation for not, in so many words, puttin enuf $ in the offerin plate, yeah, he sugar coated it, but we ALL knew what he was saying.  My grama's church, it was.  My grama, being i guess about 70 at the time, who, by the way lives on $360 a month soc. security, put in five bucks a week.  How insulting !  how UNCHRISTIAN, as far as i'm concerned.  i'm afraid religion has become like everything else in today's society boils down to:::::THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR and not the principles.  i'm not totally anti-religion, the 10 comandments to me represent univeral morals for all societies to abide by.  We have all, however, at one time or another seen religion used as a tool to manipulate people in some form or another.
signed,
not totally anti-religion, WP

I have spent much time researching ALA by calling Focus on the Family, talking to several parents of children in and graduated from the program and many hours on the phone with various staff at ALA.  I have found nothing negative and have had only positive responses.  I hope if you are looking at placing a child anywhere, in or out of the US, you will prayerfully take the time to research the places you are considering and then trust God to lead you to the right one for your child.

Excuse me, prayer is not going to help parents feel confident about a program facing the kind of allegations leveled against ALA on this forum.  DEAL with the allegations instead of glossing them over.  It is not very professional.

Try doing some research.  There is a watchdog organization for teen programs.  Go to http://www.isaccorp.com and see if there are any complaints or pending litigation.  This step should be taken prior to any placement.  But prayer is still #1!

And...remember anyone can post anything on these boards without the allegations ever being investigated.  Outside organizations with independent investigators are the only way to get an unbiased, unpaid for report.
