Ginger, is it harrasment or is it stalking when people post your social security number and then start calling you place of employment with threats of being sued if you don't keep quiet?

Come on guys, get a grip.  You can not shut me up.  What I know I will tell.

I think it could be either or both. I hope your boss has caller ID. If it happens again, hit *57 immediately, before another call can come in. Jot down the time, date and content of the phone call. That will cause the telco system to do a tip and trace on the calling party. If you have to take legal action later, law enforcement or the courts can then match your notes with recorded data.

We are on it.  My boss is the CEO of the Bank and he has been very supportive through all of this.  I don't take to threats and neither does the Bank.

Carey, it's good you are on top of this. Whatever you have to do to identify the person who made the call, you should do.  Once you have identified the person, slap 'em with a restraining order.  That'll get their attention real quick. (P.S. with a court order, you may be able to subpoena the telephone records of people you suspect of making the call.  Your local law-enforcement agency can advise you further, or even a lawyer familiar with this kind of situation.  (I am neither a lawyer or a police officer).

You might also want to ask the telephone company (who services the bank's communication systems) what you can do.  They would most likely be able to advise you on your options.  Good luck!

Oh, I'm sorry, I missed Ginger's response which is very good advice.  :wink:

One thing though, what's this about your social security number being posted? When did that happen and do you suspect it was the same person who made the phone call to your employer?
