How are the two owned wwasp websites considered a form of "news"???

I love how the brainwashed parents try to blame Tim (the writer for the NY Times) of being wrong. This is what Tim does for a living. For gods sake, wake up and help your children!

And again... wwasp supporters, dont you have any other defense than to just mention pure. Has pure been involved in the wwasp ordeal? Yes. But there are many other survivors who want to hold wwasp accountable for abuse and fraud.

This statement comes from the Parent Survey page of wwasprebuttal:

"Our high parent satisfaction rate is further evidenced by the fact that we received 1,344 Letters of Appreciation from parents during 2001 and 1,739 Letters of Appreciation from parents during 2002."

This was a topic of discussion a few weeks ago when I explained that seminar homework requires writing a letter of appreciation to your child's program. While looking at the Accolades section of the wwasprebuttal I couldn't help but notice how many pictures show people wearing seminar nametags. I then started reading the letters and noticed that dozens in just the first 3 pages state that they are being written on day 3 (or the final day) of Focus. But really there is no reason to read beyond the first sentence of this letter on page 2:

Dear Craig & SCL Staff, Susan & I were asked to write this appreciation letter at Focus. It made me think about all the challenges, time, emotion, and love that you expound on our behalf to Matt, and how little parents (ourselves included) acknowledge and appreciate all the very hard, bvut very good work that you do. You are making a difference in Matt?s life. You are also making a difference in our lives. We cannot thank you enough. Love,
Holt

I randomly read or scanned letters on every page and from what I can see the majority of these letters are from parents who have not seen or talked to their children. So wwasp's accolades are coming from people who don't know how their experience will end.

Judy - you have made some very odd statements, this one included.  Does ANYBODY know how their experience will end?

One thing I KNOW is that I create what I intend, whatever it looks like, it's my own results. I've written "accolades" in the past 4 years or so, and never one at a seminar, but 2 while my son was in, and 1 about a year ago.  Not everyone that writes does it in a seminar and not all seminars request those letters.  If they did, it would be around 2500 - 3000 or more.  So, try again - what's your story anyway.  What did you create that you feel like a victim now?

My statement simply means that they do not know the whole story. They don't know how they will feel about wwasp months from now. They don't know if their child will graduate or not. There is much that they do not yet know, but this is what wwasp is using to verify their "success".  Everybody loves their new car when they drive it off the lot. Would you agree that it is more valuable to know the experience of someone who bought the same make/model from the same dealership 10 years ago and has the experience of dealing with sales, service, etc. through the entire 10 years?

Maybe all seminars don't request letters, but the Discovery and Focus that I attended did. Apparently Holt's Focus did. The discovery that I staffed did request letters. The focus I staffed did request letters. At all 4 of the seminars I was involved in the staff gave sheets of stationary to the participants for this purpose. Apparently you and Darlene were in the same seminar that did not request letters.

So we are referring to a WWASP owned website??? What kind of content do you think will be on their site?

WWASP buying their way out of trouble as usual:

"WWASP, meanwhile, apparently paid hush money to an unknown number of former Dundee families in exchange for their silence.

The Tico Times this week obtained a copy of a letter from WWASP attorney J. Ralph Atkin to former Dundee mother Shannon McCullough of California, offering her an "indemnification" in exchange for her agreement to not pursue legal actions against Dundee or Carolina Springs. The letter, dated July 30, was enclosed with a check for $16,328 and a note reading: "By cashing the above mentioned check, you are releasing Carolina Springs Academy, Dundee Ranch Academy and all of their owners, operators, managers, agents, employees, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants and hold them harmless from and against any and all legal actions or proceedings that may be instituted as a result of the student's enrollment in the School."

Q:  Why did the WWASP facilitator keep sending the inmate back to Level One?

A:  She kept forgetting to wash between her ears.

Q:  What does one call a person who knows how to cook WWASPs' goose?

A:  A "Sous Chef".

Q: How can one tell when Narvin is lying?

A: I know how,  but when I cashed the $16,000 check I got from Narvin's mouthpiece,  I agreed to keep it confidential.

Thank you, thank you!! The Fornits audiences are the best audiences in the world!  Drive safely this weekend and remember to tip your Web Host!

Anon,

My seminar experience requested parents write "Thank You Letters" to their child's Facility, Family Rep and Director.
It was required Focus Homework.

I suggest, Judy's results are what WWASP provided. Not what she had INTENDED at all.

Yes. Last year, I moved my family to another state and bought a house. At the time, I had plenty to say and to ponder about the towns, the realtor, the sellers and the whole experience. But, not knowing how things would turn out, I would only say these things to my husband in an effort to explore the situation and make the right decisions.

Now I know how the experience has come out. It's a good house, not too bad a neighborhood and the realtor turned out to be an OK guy. I'd be happy to write him a letter of endorsement. But it would be almost as foolish to do so before closing as it would be for anyone to put any stock at all in anything I had to say at that time.

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance- that principle is contempt prior to investigation."
--Herbert Spencer

Worse than that? Contempt after investigation and in blithe disregard to actual known facts!

Let me tell you something. Most of your kids will come out of this more-or-less OK. None will ever be the same. All of them are experiencing intense psychological and emotional abuse and many are getting a good dose of physical abuse as well. The ones who make it out relatively intact are the ones who learn early on that they can't, shouldn't and don't need to trust their parents ever again.

The sooner they get over the betrayal and start building a new life for themselves that doesn't include you the better off most Program vets are.

No synonym for God is so perfect as Beauty. Whether as seen carving the lines of the mountains with glaciers, or gathering matter into stars, or planning the movements of water, or gardening - still all is Beauty!

Whoops! Ginger, you spilled the beans on that one!

Perhaps there IS such a thing as an "Excess of Candor".   If people start ignoring WWASPs oath of silence (or "Omerta" as certain organizations refer to it), they might just accept WWASPs' hush money,  then go ahead and testify anyway.  Let J Ralph Atkin or their other "big guns" go into court and try and enforce a contract to cover up their abusive practices.

Hmmmmm...maybe that's not such a bad idea.

Was it "hush" money - which would be stupid! or was it the reimbursement on your unused tuition?

Hhhmm...."hush" money was paid, as accepting the money carried the deal that the acceptor would "hush".  The legal letter from Atkins was an exception to the rule (because he needed it kept quiet?).  Ask a lot of these parents on this board who pulled their children if they are still receiving dunning bill notices, months and months after their children were removed from WWASPS, for "services" they did not receive.  Many of the bills even have a smiley face stamped on the statement!

I would think since Dundee closed and many parents had paid for a year in advance, they would be reimbursed the unused portion.  I tend to think that's what the check was for, not as a bribe to be quiet.
