Why was the who allowed back onto the board?

This is the forum that spawned a rumor that web diva was actually a Three Springs Employee and I was still living in Alabama. Apparently I was running the forum on the behest of my "boss" web diva.

Here I thought that was just pillow talk.

I think that is a good idea.. Ha, Ha, Ha.. we must remember to ensure that standards apply equally for everyone. Otherwise it isn't  "Fair", and if we are going to shut down this abusive industry together we need to agree on the ground rules.

Someone is posting that the who's (allegedly) a convicted sex offender, apparently guilty of abusing a child.  If that's the case, he has no right to be here, he's a threat to teens posting.

This is the first I've heard of that. But honestly, criminal history, even serious child abuse, cannot be a bar from posting to a forum about the troubled parent industry. Shit, we'd have no input from former staff or even most program graduates or any parents if I set that standard.

And no, as far as I know, Who hasn't donated any money though I don't know for sure the identity of all donors. In any event, that wouldn't influence my decision. It's just as Psy says. At the time I banned him I was limited in my ability to research the question. Once Psy and Kelly got the database back in order we were better able to assess it. It was not an easy call at all. But we had to conclude, based on the facts, that his activity approached flooding and often goes way over the line of trolling and annoyance but didn't come close to what most people call flooding. And, as you say, we really do have to be as fair and consistent as humanly possible. As much as it pissed some people off, I think we made the right call this time.

A prime tenet of my thinking when I first opened these forums was tosee if we win the argument simply by showing that we're just plain right, not by shutting down dissent. If the programs worked this way--by actually exploring ideas and using sense and reason instead of censorship and control--then I wouldn't even have a problem with them.

So why was he reinstated?
While your intentions are noble, you ultimately can't 'patrol the borders' of fornits like that. There are too many ways to get in or around a banned IP address. Besides, then everyone would :cry2: that the fornits admins are nazis, etc.

Instead of attempting to ban TheWho, why not start an informative "sticky" thread? This thread would cite TheWho's program advertisements for Aspen and whatever else, giving the low-down to new people. It could be set up so that admins only could post on it...just a thought.[/quote]

This is actually a pretty good idea. What would need to go on is the original and deleted post where he was outed as a sex offender and where he admitted as much. It is important that parents especially know that this sick fuck who presents as some kind of voice of reason is more than just some pro program parent. He is actually a sinister figure who is capeable of justifying criminal behavior. Young people are not safe from this man. This is a step beyond the run of the mill program parent

Ok, so then we need some who's who threads. Fornits regular posters as such and frequently mentioned people as they are. You think we should do this under website hosting or as a moderated thing?

I would suggest putting it in the Troubled teen forum as this is prolly the most frequently read. Especially by people new to the board

You should start out with the posts where he admitted to being a sex offender and then follow up with the ones he deleted.  These should be at the top.  Putting it in the Troubled Teen forum is a good idea.

When something is deleted in phpbb, unless Ginger has some very lucky, very old backups of the SQL, it's GONE.

It wouldn't be a program then.

No, not true.  In SQL as well as other relational databases the deleted posts are stored in their own table automatically.  It will be easy find.

All right I'll bite:

I hereby give permission to make public any post(s) (deleted or otherwise) I made saying I admitted to being a sex offender.

I find this whole discussion interesting.  We have been reading for years here on fornits about how kids have been abused and wondering which of the posts are embellished, which are true and which are false.  But there is no way to verify whether or not all the stories are true or not.  Its seems we have an opportunity to verify the validity of some of these posts………

So the question put before us is:

Do some posters sometimes come on here and tell a “tall taleâ€

How about a poll: should the posts be 'shared', or not?

I used to think the whole "TheWho is a sex offender" thing was just a troll.

Now.. now, I'm not so sure.

BTW, the posts weren't "deleted", they were edited out of existence. He's done that with a lot of other posts, you can find them if you're willing to search through hundreds of pages of Whospam.

If he really is a child molester than I think everyone should know.
I found it hard to believe it first but his silence on the matter convinced me otherwise. It looks like now that he is getting found out he is in damage control mode.

All posts (edited or deleted) are saved in their corresponding history table in "phpbb"  .....  the evidence is in the database.....  lets do it!  I think our "guest" would like to see the results as soon as possible.

Do they let off steam and embellish?  Do they sometimes make up stories to make someone look bad?  Maybe a counselor or teacher because they were forced to study?
