If the govt. had anything to do with it they would of taken advantage of it better. They would of not waited a couple months to attack afghanistan and wouldn't have waited two years to attack Iraq. If the US govt. new about 9.11 and cynically wanted to take advantage of it for foreign policy reasons they sure did a horrible job. They could of attacked all the countries they wanted, basically done whatever they want the month after 9.11 instead they waited six years before contemplating taking on Iran.. some conspiracy.

iran? they've been contemplating iran since 2004, 3 years after 9/11 is when we invaded iraq. after the media blatantly and successfully turned the focus from osama to saddam so that could be yet another lame excuse to attack a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 except the fact that they were in the middle east.  hell our govt. loves the bin-laden's don't ya know?

i dont think it was an inside job but i think we knew ahead of time, that's been as close to proven as you can get w./ a govt that has been able to hide most of the henious shit it does.  it would benefit them greatly to play dumb when it came to 9/11. Of course iran and iraq really have nothing to do with it but the american public is stupid enough to believe anything and bought the bs as usual.

The US has a long history of dealing with Saudi Arabia. The CIA ended up supplying arms to Muslim fanatics in an attempt to thwart communism. (Your enemy's enemy is your friend kind of thing.) I don't think we "saw it coming" or anything like that, but the CIA inadvertently made 9/11 possible...

...because the White house looked on the Muslim Brotherhood as a silent ally, a secret weapon against communism. The press kept calling the attackers al Qaeda, thanks to Osama's relentless publicity machine, but it was the Muslim Brothers through and through -- the same crew we used to do our dirty work in Yemen, Afghanistan, and lots of other places.

I was driving to my dealer's house to score pills when the first tower fell.  I was shooting up and watching CNN when the second one came down.

Bill Maher is a vocal zionist and fan of Bill Clinton.  This is Bill Clinton who blew up a pharmaceutical factory in Sudan chasing Bin Laden.  This is the same Bill Clinton who attacked Yugoslavia to take out the traditional Russian ally, Serbia, at the same time protecting an international heroin trafficking group, the KLA.  This Bill Clinton also carried on the weekly bombing of Iraq started in 1991 by Bush Sr.
Bin Laden does not have a relentless publicity machine, and does not even refer to his group as al Qaeda.  al Qaeda is a term that refers to a database.  It has been appropriated by the Western media to sell the War on Terror.  Osama was still employed as a CIA asset throughout the Bosnian War, pipelining arms into Bosnia to aid the Muslims fighting to destroy Yugoslavia.  MPRI and who knows who else armed and trained the Croatians to do the same. Bin Laden was also a conduit for money and arms into Chechnya, destabilizing the oil-producing Caucasus region.  The US has been using Islamic fundamentalists since at least the days of the overthrow of Sukharno in Indonesia, where an alliance was formed between Facsist military and fundamentalist Muslim students.
The Western intelligence agencies in fact still have their hands all over Jamaal Islamaya, the South-east Asian terror group who came up with operation Bojinka, the original plan to hijack airliners and use them as cruise missiles.
Same applies in Spain, where the Madrid bombers were linked to a paid informant of Spanish intelligence.
You have to wake up folks.  Britain has been using agents to foment terror in Ireland for over one hundred years, and the dipshit Canadians were just busted using agents provocateurs at the Montebello summit.

Every now and then I am reminded of how vastly different Canada and the US really are. Despite our proximity and many cultural overlaps, there are some things on which we are worlds apart. This would be one of those issues.

The insensitivity of that video shocked me. It wasn't so much the 9/11 stuff, but the whole breastfeeding rant. So, here's mine:

In Canada, no one would ever contemplate telling a woman not to feed her hungry baby, or that it's "too intimate" to be allowed in public. To say mothers who breastfeed in public are just too lazy to plan ahead is appaling. I can't imagine anyone in Canada saying something like that and getting away with it. Babies need food, and often. Breastfeeding is far healthier for mother and baby, and if at all possible should be continued exclusively for the first six months. Some mothers can express, some can't and many breastfed babies are not interested in taking a bottle anyway. In many, many cases it is not possible to "plan ahead". Should mothers then be expected to stay at home until their 6-month old is starting on other foods?

This does just fit in with a clear cultural issue of lack of support and respect for mothers and children. No, you don't deserve a prize for "doing something a dog can do", but raising children well is one of the most important roles a person can have. Whether we're talking about forcing mothers to go back to work 6 weeks after their babies are born (here there is a government funded parental leave of up to 50 weeks at 55% minimum of your original salary, which can be split between both parents as they see fit, or even taken at the same time), or about hiring on any misanthropic, bitter, teenager-hating English major to teach high school students, there is something terribly wrong when we simply don't care enough about our children to make sure we give them the best possible start.
