Son or grandson? I know Brent (I think that was his name) graduated The Seed in the 70's.

Mark Sembler is Mel Sembler's grandson, and he graduated Pathway around 12-18 months ago.

"As for being "clapped" at to hurry up. As if that is sooo disrepsectful and abussive? Thats funny, have you ever been in a public or private High School and see how kids have to:
1)Ask permission to go to the bathroom, at"unscheduled times" We all have stories of the kid denied bathroom access in school.
2)Have heard and or experienced "verbal abuse from our so called peers" And from school staff.
3)Have been subjected to the "liberal political agenda" without the other views taught.
4)Have watched and or experienced being ostracized, bullied, put down, etc. because we were not part of "the group". ex: football team, pom-pom team, "popular" crowd.

WOW lets start a group to close down public education. There is serious abuse going on there."

Well, you aren't 'locked in' at public school, nor restrained, expected to sit up straight, feet flat, eyes forward, strip searched, asked to "motivate" to speak, or belittled to the point of wanting to kill yourself or others. Public school doesn't cost $30,000 a year and ask you to give up your identity and life as you know it either.

::stab::  What a stupid point you didn't make.

Yea Schadel, I put this in to show how oblivious you and others are to the humiliating tactics used. The girl was 18 and you did this in front of a room full of FAMILY.  I feel sorry for these kids let alone having to be with other children they don't want to be with and then have to sleep in the same room with them at night.  God it would make anyone raging.

You are absolutely right. What was I thinking. You know I told myself I wouldn't post here. But like anyone who insists on listening to gossip and thinks that they aren't participating I couldn't control myself.
It will never happen again.
How foolish of me to try to argue. Its like trying
to convince someone, the earth is not flat ,
the sky is not green, and the moon is not made of cheese.
It truly is just a government conspiracy and part of the conservative agenda.
Good bye and good luck

That was always my favorite response when I was a newcomer, btw. Whenever staff or an oldcomer would start going on about what an ungrateful piece of shit I was, how selfish and twisted, etc. I'd always responde with something like "You're right! Why, if I were you, I'd just kick me out the door right now. Whadaya say?" I never did get an answer, except sometimes a little physical violence or more yelling, spit flying, etc. I suppose that, since you can't beat on me or have me thrown to the floor, I probably won't get any kind of response at all out of you.

See now? Why can't you people just adopt that attitude when dealing with kids who don't want to believe your bullshit or abide your company? 86 the violence and other bullshit and just part company with them if you don't like their attitude. That is, after all, the civilized thing to do.

nobody is locked in at pathway. when i was on 5th a newcomer got up and walked out of the group room and out of the building. I was going to follow him and try to stop him but staff told me to stop. i dont nkow what the program was like when you were there but what you are talking abuot is defenitly not going on anymore. for those who think getting armed is "abuse"...get out of your self pity and quit your bitching.

I wonder when these pfc ass-kissers are going to learn that I WILL WIN any discussion about this program I was there I lived it. I AM THAT DAMN GOOD! Were you alarmed into an empty bedroom at night with the window sills having 4" coarse wood screws going through the window latches so you couldnt open the window? That's a fire hazard and death trap at once. Do you remember why there were two trusted oldcomers at the doors? So nobody could run wise-ass. They most of the time didn't even have to grab you they just blocked the god damn door with all their might. I saw staff lay people out before Scott, BJ, Hugh. Vicki W. laid one of my good friends out on the floor in the rec room. I saw restraining by even peerstaff, dont give me that shit, " oh, only trained restraint counselors." kiss my ass, I was restrained every day for 6 1/2months. It cracks me up when I hear graduate parents talking about what happens in the building.....as if you were there!!!!lol lol lol..nope, sorry. I still have problems dealing with what pfc did to me mentally.I'm not making this stuff up to sue for money I simply want the place to be shut down not just in detroit but in indy as well.Kids are STILL SUFFERING!! See, the problem is that the people who support pathway can't barely understand the words I type on this site. I am grammaticaly, and mentally on a whole other level.  Most of you dribble-brained pfc supporters don't understand. I just hope that someday youll snap out of it. :smokin:

One of the BIG lies on which the Program depends is that no one will believe you; that everyone sees and believes the Program version of things and that you're the only one who sees something different; that if you have doubts, it's a sign of some flaw in you.

What you're telling me about the windows nailed shut, about the guards at the doors, about staff, group and parents lying through their teeth about what really goes on is all perfectly consistent with what I saw firsthand from 1970 when my family became involved with The Seed all the way through late 1982 when I finally was able to break free from Straight, Inc.

It's a whole lot more plausible than to believe that the Program looks the same, sounds the same and seems to be just the same as it ever was but is somehow fundamentally different in only those aspects that I can't see as an outsider.

You can lead a camel to water but you can't make it stink (any more than it already does)
