protip:

He fucking typed up and printed this shit out. These weren't no handout signs.

He took EFFORT into doing all that nonsense. Thats the WTF...

Lots of organizations (eg wallMart) use LGAT style seminars to "Motivate" their workforce.  I'm not surprised at all your boss took it to heart so much.  You should probably print out some Margaret Singer, Ofshe, or Lifton articles on LGATs and anonymously drop em on his desk.  Can't hurt.  Just don't get caught.

I was JUST transferred. I'm also rather blindingly a stand-out in terms of curiousity, intellectualism, intelligence, being good with technology and computers, and critical nature.

So, it would be like "Oh, hey! I'm poking holes in something you clearly took to heart! Please don't get the manager to fuck me over!" I'm the only person who'se spoken up about it, it seems!

 Sure would be worth it if I wanted to do that instead of give a 30 day notice if I ever feel like quitting

DannyB on the internet:I CALLED A LAWYER TODAY TO SEE IF I COULD SUE YOUR ASSES FOR DOING THIS BUT THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE.

CCMGirl on program restraints: "DON\'T TAZ ME BRO!!!!!"

TheWho on program survivors: "From where I sit I see all the anit-program[sic] people doing all the complaining and crying."

It can be a hard lesson for a young man to learn, but worth learning nonetheless.  Keep your opinions to yourself at work unless you fancy unemployment.

I have never spent a single minute at work discussing my personal life nor have I ever spent any time out of work with my colleagues (strangely enough though, I know every excrutiating detail of their lives  ).

Don't load up someone's gun and expect them not to shoot your ass at some point!

Well that's good advice to a point.  I would say: don't share anything they can shoot you with.. but otherwise.. go ahead.  It also depends on the work enviornment... Where I used to work... We talked about everything.  It was quite politically incorrect.... the sort of people who would probably get thrown out of an LGAT...  On the other hand, they didn't know I was bi (immediate boss would have found a way to fire me if he knew that... at a staff meeting, he once talked about how "faggots" should be taken out into the woods and shot...  I think i chipped a tooth during that little speech...) and i didn't tell em I was in a program (would take too fucking long... and they'd probably think i'm nuts.... and i'd have to explain why i was there)

That's why i said "don't get caught".  If you haven't said anything about the subject already, and he would have no clue where the info came from.. by all means: plop it on his desk.  Blow up that ballon he has.  BAM!  Otherwise he will become even more of an asshole than he seems to be from what you're describing...

Work is just that.. Work..

It isn't your life.. so don't get in the habit of making it such. It took me forever to beat it into my skull that the work I do need not identify me as the person I am.

Leave work at work.. and use it as a mechanism to improve the quality of your life at home. Saving your boss from LGAT's isn't in your job description. I mean seriously... its not like some pinhead at the automotive store is going to brainwash you. Further, its not like you are taking your boss home with you and fucking him/her. So you don't have to listen to it when your shift is up.

Do your thing and ignore the cornholio at work. It isn't worth your time to be getting wrapped up in office politics at this point in your employment. Now if you ever make supervisor I fully expat you to host an LGAT down at the local strip joint. Lap dances and beers all around!

One of the few groups of people it is still politically correct to attack are gay people, and it makes me just as uncomfortable when someone launches into some rant about it, it's disgusting there are people still like that. My dad was like that. I wonder what would happen if that boss would of said "I hate those niggers, they should be taken out in the woods and shot!" You just can't say those things in public without ruining your career. I look forward to the day when slurs against gay people garner the same type of disgusted reaction. It also makes you realize how ignorant people are, thinking that they can spot gay people anyways, as if everyone is like Jack from Will and Grace or something, truly ignorant people.
This one time a psychiatrist I had been  forced to see when I was 13 came into this retail job I was working at. So what does this prick do? He announces to all the store some shit from my past, I couldn't believe it. He had absolutely no sense of privacy, and thought it was all some big joke or something. From that point on my coworkers thought I was hiding something.. um.. which I am, just like a bunch of other people who don't think it's necessary to explain your full life story to acquaintances or coworkers. I agree, don't ever tell anyone anything you don't expect them to use against you.. people can be really fucked up, and not just strangers, those who are supposed to care about you and help you seem to do more damage than anyone.

In good companies -- the ones that routinely make the list of "best companies to work for" -- you can't say stuff like that about gays either, without ruining your career. Not just gays, but any group.

"Diversity" ain't just lip service, it's a fact of life in global corporations. Smart companies use it to their advantage -- not just because it's morally correct or something they are expected to do -- but because it actually helps them attract better employees and make more money.

Theoretically.  If your supervisor doesn't like you for all the wrong reasons and it doesn't even affect your job, they'll just find some other, but politically correct, reason to get rid of you.  Happens all the time.  Don't hand them the ammunition.

You can if you work for the DC area "Good Ol' Boy's Club".  Oh gays weren't the only ppl he attacked... A-Rabs.. and "chinks" and "wops"...  He retired eventually...  If I were the PC type, i would have filed a report.  I didn't.  I simply explained to him how fucked up it was to say that (I mentioned all groups at once so he wouldn't know I was personally offended), and how it offended me.  I told him, however, that "I detest what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it" - Voltaire.  He apologized.  He stopped after that.

Well... I don't know about that (keeping everything secret).  If my boss hadn't cut his shit out, i would have quit... (i did anyway eventually.. place was all sorts of fucked up)...  Who wants to work under that shit anyway.  Be yourself (unless you really really really need thatjob, there are always others).

It's nice to be able to talk about shit with co-workers if you can.
