Can anyone give some insight?
« on: July 09, 2006, 06:07:00 AM »
While researching this industry I have noticed a couple of places like these:

http://www.2collegebound.com/

http://www.pillarsofhope.com/

What are they all about? They seem to market toward kids who have already been to behavoiural mod schools and are college age. Has anyone been? do they employ the same techniques?
I know pillars of hope is WWASP owned but the other one is owned by people called the family solutions network. These people have another school called turning winds which has one of those box ticking assesments to define how unruly your kid is.

They are both more or less the same thing.
IIRC Pillars of hope used to be Dundee Ranch. The big difference is that people are kept in them with Blackmail rather than the full force of law (what else do you call an "Exit plan")

see the children with their boredom and their vacant stares. God help us all if we\'re to blame for their unanswered prayers,

Family Solutions .... has anyone looked into this more closely?

http://www.fsni.org/

Are they part of the family solutions 180?

Who are the owners?

Pls Help - I think he was taking a jab at Ardvark. But Arddie is right - about Pillars of Hope anyway.

It was Dundee Ranch Academy, until Costa Rica told the "students" what their rights under Costa Rican law were; and subsequently jailed Narvin for breaking those laws with respect to the treatment of the "students" at Dundee Ranch Academy. He has recently been indicted on those charges, and is awaiting a trial.

And so, it appears he reopened under the new name Pillars of Hope, and claims he is "serving" young adults who want to be there.

It doesn't take a U-jean to figure out these kids are largely going to be those who opt to remain in the Program, rather than subject themselves to the total abandonment of the "Exit Plan".

Seems it is operating some what as Bell Academy did, prior to CA demanding they get right with the state or close up. They chose to close up. Maybe soon, Pillars of Hope will face a similar option, and will make the same choice.

One things for sure - the interest Costa Rica took when it did, prevented Narvin / WWASPS from opening another High Impact. They about had it ready when the G-men showed up, and said no way Jose' - not in Our country.

I knew it was on the same site as an ex WWASP school. So is it like the first few years @ uni? what educational benefits does it profess to offer kids?
Was bell closed down for abuse or lack of educational credentials?

What's Baiden's history in the troubled teen industry?  This name sounds extremely familiar.
