Wow. You admit to being afraid of naming any programs because you're afraid of being liable for a death or injury.
Death or injury? Not sure what you mean, I don’t believe I ever said that. Who would get hurt?
If you can't name a "good" program to hold up as an example, you really don't have any faith in the industry you support.
Sounds like I may not be the big supporter everyone thinks. This is what I have been saying all along.
By the way, Deborah did prove staff were unlicensed. Don't think because she isn't posting no one will know you are lying.
Wrong. One of the staff had an expired license because they had gone from one level in the profession to another. So of course they would allow their old license to expire when they moved up to a new level and picked up a new one.
In the other case the doctor had transferred from another state so his old license (in the previous state) expired but he was re licensed in the new state.
Its easy to make someone look bad if you just post a link to their old expired license. Its a cheap shot to do to someone especially if you don’t even know them.
We don't feel sorry for the staff who were found to be unqualified.
You don’t feel sorry for “anyone”. You will drag anyone through the mud who is even associated with a program because you have lost all sense of right and wrong or compassion for others. If someone hires a graduate student to work with the kids and you feel they should have their masters degree why is that their fault? What gives you the right to ridicule this kid and post pictures and comments for their family to view on the internet? It is wrong, but you have lost this sense over the years. Is it wrong that this student tries to get a job in a field they love and work with kids and pursue the career they enjoy?
You don't want to name programs because you're afraid you'll name an abusive one.
You may be right. If I was a program supporter I would have a few key programs to throw out as gems to represent the industry. But as I have said for years I am not a program supporter, just a parent who is here to help get the right message out.
We name them as a warning to others, present personal experiences and post any and all evidence we can gather. You post generalities in favor of the industry without naming programs and their failures/successes. If you support the industry you should have some facilities you're brave enough to name.
You take the “used car salesman” approach and allow one side of the story to be told. You don’t offer up any positive information as it comes out. If someone happens to mention positive facts about a program you down play them. You don’t have control over what individuals post, but each person has control over themselves.
Fornits is a regular discussion board, you're allowed to post your pro RTC commercials for the entire industry and debate us. Without naming your good and bad programs you promote them all. StrugglingTeens is not a regular discussion board. ST shares your views, but their discussion board will not tolerate negative comments about the industry. Enjoy your free speech on Fornits who, even while you mock the forum.
Everyone who has read what I post knows I don’t promote programs or support them all. This is a sharp stick tactic because you don’t like me arguing the points. I give people/programs the benefit of the doubt. Anyone who has read a few pages here knows no one else does that here (or very few at least). I am able to say that I am not in favor of children with Aspergers or Autistic children being sent to a program. I don’t believe children with attachment issues should be treated outside the home (unless the family is pursuing a disruption). I have changed my views on regulation, staff requirements and I don’t believe parents should be able to send their child to a program without sign off from a therapist or counsellor. I continue to grow and learn every day which effects my views on the industry. Many here cannot make this claim and hold the same views they had 30 years ago.
If a child gets hurt fornits turns into a lynch mob and even if it goes to jury if the results don’t come out the way you like you still accuse the people who were acquitted and brand them abusers.
I don’t mock the forum, but I may mock some of the people who post here in retaliation which is mild compared to what gets thrown at me and mild compared to what I see being done to staff people who many have never even met. If you took some time to meet some of these people face to face and understand what drives them and what makes them tick you would never try to discredit them or embarrass them in front of their families the way it is done here. You place an ugly mask on program staff so you don’t have to look at their faces while you ridicule and accuse them of being abusers. You get so caught up in it that you don’t even realize you are being abusive yourselves.
If you were so above board you would try to base some of your believes on facts and statistics instead of repeating the same 10 children’s names over and over again. You reject numbers as cherry picked or suspect if the results are not what you want them to be.
There was a Pulitzer prized winning novelist who spent a year and a half inside a program and wrote what he saw and the childrens experiences. I would think that this would be one of the top books that would be on the fornits book list. But it is not even listed or discussed because he didn’t see the abuse fornits is selling to people here. Please don’t pretend to be open minded and make statements like: ....fornits
” post any and all evidence we can gather”. Any person who has been reading here for a few hours knows this not to be true.
Sorry, I don’t know who you are so if I was too harsh or unfair, I apologize...
