See this is what I a saying, you make this long post and forget to review, what you are quoting,  it for content.  Here take a look again, I highlighted the area for you:

?the licensing issue will go on but likei said places, all treatment centers use so unlicensed staff. Oh by the way i called my friend at ASR and was told they have 4 licensed staff 2 licensed social workers, 1 licensed drug addictions counselor and 1 licensed mental health counselor. they have 3 or 4 counselors waiting for the next test.?

Whoops, sorry you missed this DJ.  But this info comes straight from ASR and it is current this week??..  you should slow down and read what I am saying.

Deborah can check the IP adresses, DJ, if you are ever wondering if it is me posting... I dont play the games like you do....I log in.

So like I have been saying to the parents is to discard this nonsense and check with the school.  They are spreading so much mis information, here, as we have shown, I dont think you can believe any of it.
Dont be fooled!

So it looks like you are backing down on this licensing issue and it doesnt seem clear what the requirements are.

Not at all. I know they aren't licensed as an RTC. I doubt they're licensed as a Residential Substance Abuse facility.

Quote
All we can conclude at this point is that ASR has licensed counselors which was the big question.  The open issue now is how many are they required to have.

That's all YOU can conclude. I challenge you to stop using "We" and replace it with "I".

If they aren't licensed as either type of provider, they are quite clearly providing therapy in violation of the law.  Schools are disallowed from providing these services, period.

I dunno about you, Deb, but I'm just about ready to dig into this matter fully - just because Whooter brought it on.

When the staties come knockin' on ASR's door with search warrants, they'll have TheWho to thank for it.  Without his rampant stupidity, nobody would even be talking about this at all...

Hey, Whooter Libby Jr., are your handlers at ASR going to get mad at you for this???

Hey, as an aside, is there anybody out there from ASR reading this that would care to comment on the job Whooter has done representing (read: "bringing the heat on") your facility?  I'd be interested to see what kind of job Whooter has done representing you.

I've been reading the MySpace blog of an ASR counselor...His degree is in English, and he's listed as a "res. mentor", whatever that is.  He recently broke up with a guy who left a "handprint on his heart".  Um...yeah, I'll keep looking for ASR staff on MySpace after I stop snickering...

Pure BS. I can't even verify that with the IP. You clearly haven't confirmed it's staff via PM because they aren't registered.
I'm not one to criticize others spelling and grammer, I personally think it's over rated, but I'd think any employee at a $6000/month "school" could do a little better.

Quote
So after the next testing period it looks like they will have upwards of 8 counselors licensed or 73% licensed.  They have come a long way over the past few years.  When we checked them last year (or year and a half ago) they had 2 licensed staff and they have expanded the number of hires also.  Its good to see these schools take a pro active approach to hiring more staff and encouraging them to get licensed.  I know it is an added expense for the schools in terms of salary and educational expenses, but it shows they are on a path for continuous improvement, which his healthy for the school and the kids.

every state has different rules as to what it takes to get a license.  different hours of work or supervision.  the level of supervision differs also.  i cannot quote each state.  MA requirement take about 2 years to complete.  you also have to take a test and present a case.  the state of georgia is ridiculus about licensing which has to do with the fact it has 150 counties that have to come into agreement before anything is decided.

HLA was founded by some CEDU people but they have never changed the program.  i do not ever remember it being held up as the cream of the crop except for Buchi.  however, the people you refer to at ASR left in 2003 if i remember right.  they have a new clincal director who like i said is clinical in his stance. see these are facts that never seem tobe taken into account.

the licensing issue will go on but likei said places, all treatment centers use so unlicensed staff. Oh by the way i called my friend at ASR and was told they have 4 licensed staff 2 licensed social workers, 1 licensed drug addictions counselor and 1 licensed mental health counselor.  they have 3 or 4 counselors waiting for the next test.

well i am off...please keep some more open minds folks...i think the debate is important but let us not get so caught in trying to prove each other wrong that we forget what we are fighting for

Look familiar, Whooter?

It should.  See, folks, what ol' Whooter has done here is to take an anonymous post (which could very well be The Whooter himself, BTW) in which the anonymous poster states that s/he was "told by a friend at ASR" about the information in the post.

Now, Whooter, why on earth would anyone believe second-hand anonymously posted information from the internet with no sources as a fact?

Boy, you've really lost it, Whooter.  This is your idea of "proof"?  Pleeeease, spare us from your nonsense.

You're busted out again, Whooter.  Caught red-handed lying your face off (AGAIN, but no surprise).

So, Whooter, who are we to believe, the Board of Registration of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professionals of the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts
which documents only two licensed staff members at ASR, or you and your anonymous friend's anonymous friend?

Whooter, you're not doing to well at this, are you?

Hey Whodummy, not only did I read the post, I quoted it before you posted you last post with the same things highlighted.

Thanks again, though, Whooter for documenting AGAIN that your "proof" comes from an anonymous friend of an anonymous stranger.  Nice, Whooter!  You prove my point for me time and again!

I think you mean ?Keystone cops? !!  The kids love it when the staties show up.  The school lets everyone out of their cages, they put make up on the scars and  have real food brought in from the local deli.

It?s a good thing for the kids, DJ, and that is my focus!  You have been missing the whole point all along??.

If you look at all your past posts this has been all about proving me wrong, getting the schools in trouble, embarrassing staff members, in short your own agenda.  Not once have you mentioned the kids or helping them.  That?s what sets us apart; I am trying to make things better for kids not myself.  That?s why you will always lose is because you don?t have an honest cause and you are filled with hate and resentment.

So enough of that, where are those numbers again, lets take a look:

they have 4 licensed staff 2 licensed social workers, 1 licensed drug addictions counselor and 1 licensed mental health counselor. they have 3 or 4 counselors waiting for the next test.?

Read it again, Whooter boy.  Just repeating it over and again won't make it so.  Try clicking your heels togather and saying "I wish I were back in the psych ward!  I wish I were back in the psych ward!"

Like I said yesterday, I called a friend of mine and he called a friend of his who's a Marine - they found the WMD in Iraq!

Sorry DJ you numbers have zero credibility at this point.  We cant rely on them because you keep changing your position, licensed/not licensed.  Faulty background checks, posting misinformation.

The only thing we can rely on are the latest figures.  When ASR updates their web site then those will be the latest figures, but until then (and not a day sooner) we will have to depend on these:

?.they have 4 licensed staff 2 licensed social workers, 1 licensed drug addictions counselor and 1 licensed mental health counselor. they have 3 or 4 counselors waiting for the next test.?

Yeah, you help those kids alright.  You help them get sent to an unlicensed treatment center with unlicensed staff and unaccredited academics.  You're a savior!

I think the reason you're here is just to practice lying.  You're doing a fine job!

Who, if your information is correct, and properly cited, then no one can "prove you wrong". Right?
If the "school" is operating ethically and lawfully, then there's no worry of "getting them in trouble". Is there? We will have simply wasted our time.
Embarrassing staff? You mean by posting their licensing status?

Have you even called the Licensing Division in Mass and reported that ASR provides "therapy" and should be properly licensed as an RTC. If they were, we wouldn't be having this discussion about whether or not staff held the proper credentials. Licensing ADDS VALUE.
The kids at RC/HLA were very happy with the changes made after I reported them. They had better food (albeit fried), no more limited calories as punishment. Doesn't mean that RC/HLA has followed the regs. In fact RC was just recently written up with 33 violations, primarily for taking HLA kids without adequate records. Once HLA is licensed, I'm sure the kids will be even happier with the changes.
And that doesn't mean everyone can breath easy. We will continue to monitor and report violations to the state. With regulation in place ORS can go in to investigate without a court order, which gave HLA ample time to "clean things up".
