Not really
I spent a lot of time listening to Zeppelin, Tull, Moody Blues,The Who, Yes, Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, foghat, Uriah Heep (Good years).  I might have bought a Sabbath album but I don?t remember which one now.  I really wasn?t a huge fan of Phil Ochs nor his singing voice either.  I appreciated his writing more and especially when he highlighted and exposed the story of the girl who was murdered in New York with ?Outside of a small circle of friends? and no one helped her??anyway, but not much Sabbath

Ok Who, there may be hope for you yet!

I'm glad to see you mentioned Pink Floyd, cos it gave me an even better idea for your musical prescription. Nevermind the Sabbath for now. Do you have a copy of Animals? If not, find yourself one somewhere. Give it a listen, paying close attention the lyrics' meaning (hopefully the CD will provide them; the LP does) and get back to me. Pay close attention to Roger Waters' incisive words, they may speak to you. There's no time to waste!

Holy crap, what a blast from the past.  I never saw them play it live, I think it was late 70?s I haven?t heard that in years I lost the LP, I will check it out?.

How did it go??.

Hey you, Whitehouse,
Ha ha charade you are.
You are a proud town mouse,
Ha ha charade you are
you might try to keep our feelings off the street.
You're almost a real treat,
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused ?

Bus stop rat bag
you are nearly a laugh
but you cry.....

Cant remember any more.

Quote from: ""TheWho""
July 1, 1999 thru June 2000

Elementary and secondary  schools

At School ---21 school associated Deaths  (16 Homicides,6 suicides)

Away from school  (2,124 Homicides, 1,922 Suicides)

Note: Data were drawn from a number of data sets to enable comparisons of homicides and suicides at school and away from school. Data for school-associated violent deaths during the 1999-2000.

National Center for Educational Statistics

Time frame:  July 1, 1999 thru June 2000  (52,000,000 students)

At School --- 21 school associated Deaths  (16  Homicides .00003%, 6 suicides .000012%)

Away from school  --(2,124 Homicides 0.0041%, 1,922 Suicides 0.0037%)

And estimated, I think a population of 30,000 kids.

So At TBS?s the results would be:
At School  ---   0 (0 Homicides, 0 suicide)

Away from School ? 1 (0 Homicides 0%, 1 Suicide 0.0033%)

So from a TBS vs National average the TBS?s had much lower rates of Suicides and Homicides for the same time period ?at school? and about the same ?away from school.?

Who again your sources for deaths in TBS are not correct. I already provided you with a link detailing some of the deaths that have occured in TBS over the years, including the year in question you are looking at. It's time you accepted that the percentage of deaths for kids is higher in TBS's than it is in public school. This is a fact Who.

Actually you claimed there had been one suicide in 30 years, after claiming there had been none. Hang on just a tick and let me see what I can find.

Yes, I was mistaken about the 30 years, the time period we have data on and can compare is July1, 1999 thru  June 2000.

Here's one.

In Febuary of 2000 a 12 year old boy was killed when a 300 lbs counselor "restrained" him so well the kid died. This was at Eckerd.

If it was classified as a homicide then it can be compared.  The data collected didn?t include rapes, accidental deaths, kids who died of exhaustion on track and field, kids who accidently overdosed only those classified as homicides and suicides at school (which includes on the way to school) and away from school.

The counselor was apparently charged with manslaughter. Does that meet with your standards. Before we go any further though I'm wondering, why are we taking into account kids who die away from school. That has nothing to do with the comparrison. Something else to take into consideration. Often times these places attempt to cover up murders and don't accurately report them. Just look at the kid who died was it the summer before last. The one at the boot camp in Florida. They murdered that kid and then claimed he died of complications related to sickle cell.

NOW we have The Who trying to say that homicides and suicides that happen "away from school" can be blamed on the public schools?

The Who will go to any limits to win a senseless argument.

Since when is a public school responsible for what a studen does "away from school?"
Come on.....give it up.
