I wouldn't dare calling him a homosexual, because that would lead us to generalise, presuposing that all homosexuals are sick. I'm not gonna fall into the this obvious discussion, guess we all agree that what he's saying is sick, sexist and just plain ridiculous overall. Bottom line.
I'd like to get back to the topic's central idea, which is "masturbation". I know this generates some sort of taboo, let's pretend we're all mature about this, just for a second.
Have you guys ever wondered about how come teenagers between 15-18 years old, during puberty, were deprived from any sexual behavior for 2 to 3 years?
How confused do they get once they're out because they haven't gone through the phase of learning how to relate to people sexually/affectivelly?
You can't have sex, you can't touch each other, you can't flirt, you can barelly have conversations with someone of the opposite sex.
You can't touch yourself. Everytime someone in the dorms was discovered masturbating, it was so, so embarassing, they'd make it seem as if the person was completelly sick minded. How therapeutical is that, seriously? That shit's wrong!"
To address your (over)reaction to a practical joke: Get over it.
As for your inquiry to the masturbation habits of underaged boys.
Whos sick?
Whos to say masturbating in the shower wasnt the overwhelming fix-all to this issue you apparently chalk up as yet another of the abuses Elan exposes us to?
I cant speak for anyone but myself, but I have to say it wasnt often a sexual urge would strike me while I was shacked up in Elan, but when it did, a five minute shower did the trick.
Is there something too inconceivable about that being the norm?
As for your claim that Elan surpressed the natural urges and activities of 14, 15, 16, and 17 year old boys. Youre certainly polishing one side of the coin quite well.
The other side shines with some reality.
Generally speaking, children in that age group have little to no sexual experience.
What little they may have had was most likely not a healthy, reasonable, responsible act on their part. In fact, I doubt it would be far fetched to say many of Elans residents had experienced some form of innapropriate or illegal sexual conduct.. in varying degrees from a single occasion, to ongoing abuse, either as a victim, OR a perpetrator.
Elan had no legal choice in the matter as far as how children relate to each other, and how far relationships with the oposite sex could go.
You and your creative twist and spin seems to indicate there were other options or more favorable methods. Thats just plain ignorant.
I think the rules and regulations as well as the atmosphere set a precidence, and was a great environment to learn to respect yourselves and to respect women.
There wer certainly some reasonable way to deal with an "attraction" to someone (or as they used to say "having eyes for someone"
So as far as teenagers go, did you have something else in mind?
I guess if you feel like you missed out on getting laid, maybe you should take that up with a counselor or something.
Kids in the real world are not exactly sexually active to any healthy, responsible degree.
I dont think I am alone when I say I think the kids in Elan, with whatever problems lead them there, were far from "ready" to pursue thier sexual desires or attractions...even further than those kids in public schools who had stable home lives, good grades, and no overwhelming social issues that would be further complicated by having sex at age 14-17
You spin a good web. Welcome back to reality.
