Think ISAC is a watchdog site, isn't it?

Have they posted court docs w/ names that have not previously been made public?  I honestly don't know, maybe they have.  If they have, they're wrong too IMO.

Who might step up the the plate and set a higher standard and do the right thing, then?
Might that be you, Isabelle?

does it matter in the context of this discussion if the are "watchdog" or "advocate"? the issue on the table is "SITES THAT POST LEGAL DOCUMENTS WITHOUT REDACTING THE MINORS NAMES".
and ISAC (and others) indeed posted some of the same documents posted at CAICA. no one's bitching about that. trying to understand the bias.

It's really a question of morals, not legalities.  If the names haven't been made public somewhere OTHER than the court papers I've got a major problem with that.  As has been stated, it's the same reason why news agencies don't publish names of minors or sexual assault victims.  Common courtesy and thinking about the kid and his or her future."

the time to think about morals/legalities, and a kid's future is BEFORE you turn you kid over to righteous, sadistic, money hunger programs. and certainly BEFORE you take legal action, which brings it all into the public realm.

ISAC has often gone to a great deal of trouble to redact minor's names from documents they post.

In their reports, as well as the trial transcripts,  Care was taken to protect the privacy rights of the minors involved.

No way ISAC would take advantage of PACER access to pull up court filings on cases pending, and display them with the minor child abuse victims names intact, as CaCa has done.

The information on Bethel came directly from the family, who requested the information be made accessible.

In the case of the Aldridge docs, if you'd actually read them - IZZY -  you'd see the young man was 19 when they were posted. I feel confident if he were to request a name redaction or their removel ISAC would comply. Besides their value as an educational resorce, ISAC exist to help people tell their story - not re-victimize them.

Such is not the case with CaCa and the Whitmore families.

Izzy needs to pull her head out of her ass and consider the important differences.

There is no comparison.

Well DUH .. but it doesn't excuse publishing documents just because you can. Any advocate can do what she's doing whether they work for a lawfirm as a paralegal or not.  ISAC doesn't do it and either does TAUSA or any of the other groups and websites.  So let's just call a spade a spade and stop with the excuses.

Also, that poem/song? There are better ways to memorialize children who have been killed at the hands of this industry than put words into their mouths about their "feelings" at the time of their demise.  It's really ghastly, IMO.  Very poor taste.

can you provide links to any documents in which the kids names have been redacted at TAUSA, Intrepid, ISAC, Heal, or here at Fornits (are there others?). I didn?t find any. Actually I recall there may have been one, possibly at ISAC.

so what, the day the kid turned 19 all his trauma, possible public humiliation, desire for privacy just left him? split some damn hairs buzz. just show some links to court documents where the names have been redacted. thanks

OK, as I see it here is that this issue wouldn't be such an issue if there wasn't personal animosity directed at IZ.  For those of us who know her, I think we all understand the statement above and why we question her motives.  While the above doesn't explicity state this, other posts have adn I beleive that many of us find her self-consumption, self-absorbtion and the over all oblivious or general indifferent manner in which she conducts herself contrary to what it means to be an advocate for others.  I think that, essentially, it's hard to buy because so much personal ego gets in the way of what she does.  That is too bad because, as she has pointed out here, 'the more the merrier' and also naively states 'why not be happy' at that, that caica exists? well, it's difficult to be happy when so much of this work seems to revolve around getting your name out there, IZ, as much as it is about helping kids...  well perhaps more given that you ignore some of the finer points of advocacy work, that is RESPECT.

There's nothing more repulsive than that.  Not to mention that when you begin to mess with the reputation of others, paticulary to elevate your own status...well, that's just about the quickest way to lose respect and turn people against you... which is what I suspect is what's happening now .

The poems do come across as extremely tasteless, as does the manner in which IZ inserts herself and her name as if she alone is the angel with wings coming to rescue kids, ( press conferences, harassing CPS workers) and many of us are all to well aware of how incapable IZ's of working with others because she's unwilling to examine herself, her motives, and it then becomes clear that she does not act as selflessly as is necessary... her inability to take in criticisms and quickness to place her  own flaws  on others has led to this backlash, in my opinion. Her intentions may be good, but her execution and her desperate need to elevate her status lends a sort of pleasure to her down fall.

It's like that self-important kid in school who would lie all the time to make himself look good and do it with such condesention, trying to 'tell you like it is' (while you roll your eyes and appease him) ... it's like seeing that kid get tripped up and seeing him, in some way,  get that same BS thrown back at him finally... that's how I see this.  Hostility and animosity way to high.[ This Message was edited by: Eudora on 2006-04-09 07:30 ]

what? ISAC didn't get permission from the Giannone's "before" posting it? i don't see a posting date anywhere. accourding to the doc he was 17 in Oct 03. i don't see a posting date.

whitmore families- more than joyce? what happen to all the whitmore families? or is that a secret too? did she take down all their stories? are they pissed because they WANTED their court docs posted there with the names redacted, but she wouldn't agree? WHAT for crying out loud did she do to these poor people to cause this shit storm, or guess i should say CaCa storm?

cause i for one ain't puttin her on death row for "runnin up a person's phone bill" or for missing/canceling a meeting with a reporter, OR for taking down joyce's story or denying her request/demand(?). where's the beef?

talk more about her relationship with SS. that seems to be what this is really all about. there may be some beef there.
