Big Star - What's Goin' Ahn.  A fine 2 disc bootleg of "Various alternative mixes, tracks, demos".  Proof also that Stephen Fry at Ardent Studios is lyin' through his teeth about not having unreleased Big Star recordings.  Some really cool surprises on this set, like a few of Chris Bell's solo songs being done by Big Star prior to his departure.  I had read about "lost recordings" of Big Star rehearsing/tracking Bell material, here it is with no hoopla.  Sounds great with Alex Chilton singing.  This is a great boot, like finding a lost Big Star album.

Reminds me of the famous Negativland U2 album that used AT40 outtakes..."these guys are from England and who gives a shit.....", or my fave, "why do you have me doing a death dedication for an up-tempo record?"   Good stuff.

Been listening to The Mermen, Los Straitjackets, Blue Hawaiians, Black Angels, Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac, Dinosaur jr., Eliminators, Daddy'sHands, and Oxford Collapse.

Hanging in the hospital, chowing down oxycodone, getting shot up with morphine and vancomycin, and going outside to smoke WEED and tobacco.  A friend lent me his laptop to keep me from going stir-crazy.  Don't get bit by brown recluse spiders, kids, and if ya do, try to find one that ain't gonna infect you with MRSA.

That's the one I like best, along with Green Mind.  I listened to them today on a Pandora station.  Their first, eponymous release is good, too.
