Dallas Straight 89-90
« on: December 30, 2004, 10:37:00 PM »
This is Jim Horn and I am just tripping out to see that people are out there. Does anyone remember Elmer Lockett, Brian Lorenz, Will Vaught, Michael Gattis, the bad boys......
Oh my God people we are free...free to do whatever we want to run wild and naked in the strrets....well at 33, I'm not doing that much any more. I'm married and work very hard at a film and video post-production house, as an assistant editor. I don't drink and drug, I actually live a quite, healthy life, but it took many years to get here. Sometimes, I really miss certain people and wish we could all get together, somtime. What about that weird kid Ian...I ran into his brother here in Portland one night, I was wearing a Straight shirt. It was weird. write me back if you know me, I've been wondering about ya'll!!![ This Message was edited by: jraypdxxx on 2004-12-30 19:41 ]

Was Brian Lorenz the really skinny skater dude that always wore black?
Jim, I remember your name very well, but can't picture your face.  I remember Mike Gattis, he was a little dude, pretty young too, if I'm remembering right.  I remember Elmer's name, (was he a black kid?) and Will Vaught too.[ This Message was edited by: taureana on 2005-01-11 06:12 ]

I saw Gatis about a year or so after I got out in the Irving Mall....My first night in Straight while going to Jason P's host home, Mike asked me if I jacked off....I knew I was in a fucked up place at that very moment.

Jim, I write a lot so if you want to do any colaboration let me know.  I have some 50 page works on Straight burried somewhere.

It was a rough situation. I'm sure we all talked about shit that we probably don't want splattered all over the f*%$ing Internet.

Funny...Man - the things that were talked in there and the things that went on...

I look back and think about things like - The piss bucket....Everyone in line during exercise rap rubbing the guy in fronts of you's shoulders, strip down every night....things that at the time became normal...before and after seemed crazy.

I tell you what...right after I got out (about 6 months, my girlfriend came and grabbed me by my belt loop and I almost freaked out....All in all though I met some good people and it was just a chapter in life...but what does it say we are all here some 10-15 years later talking about it?

Jim,
I am going to go through my stuff packed away in the next week and I am sure I will find them.  It seems everyone has some writings on straight.
I'll e-mail you and get your address and mail them to you.

sorry for the memory...a lot of those stand out to me...but are probably best forgotten.
