God! Bob Dillard. Last I heard of him he was a navy SEAL. Go figure on that, huh? I was always infatuated with Jodi Rellinger, but Jill was awful nice also. I wan't into Metal so I never had a chance with Jodi. Sucks, I was everybodies brother! Hadn't yet firgured out how not to be. I mean to brag, but I built parts of the net.... I really like being a computer nerd/geek what ever. I am damn good at it. HA! I'll check out the site. I really can't remember you being my nuke though I do remember you. Going to check out the link now. -Clay

Jodi, huh?---Yeah, 'sigh'---me, too. I ran into her in 1993 at a pool room on Windy Hill Rd. We smoked a joint in her car. She was working as a stripper at Boomer's on Cobb Pkwy! I never managed to go see her there, Dammit! Last I heard of Jill she was being a surrogate mother for someone. Little Bobby Dillard a Navy Seal??? That seems odd. I've exchanged emails with Haywood Cranford, Carrie Carmichael, Holly Wagner, Mike Williams, Greg Dykes, and a few others. I didn't think you would remember my being your newcomer since it was only for a night or two. I just remember the long ride from the building with you and Eddie. He had an old Pontiac or Oldsmobile, didn't he?
God, I have to strain to remember some of that stuff.
I find it fascinating now to correspond with people who were there with me.

Holly? Boy I had a thing for her also. She actually turned out to be a really good friend. she got fired from staff for fooling around with JC Keever. At least I think it was him. I've tracked down Nathan Moore and John Hull. Both married with children. John is still married to Carrie (formerly Carrie Horne). Never could get in touch with John but I talked to Carrie for a while. She is just a sweet as she ever was. I guess out of all the people I miss then the most.

Ed drove an Olds and Roswell to Marietts was a long haul. Cary never did much for me and I don't remember getting along with her very well. I think it was a maturity thing. Greg, wasn't he a fellow dead head? I can't remember. Wouldn't mind getting back in touch with Holly though. Send me an email to [email protected] and I'll send you the real address. If you want. -CL

Dear Tom, yes I remember you well and your brother. Hopefully you remember me, too - I spent my first night in the program at your house. You and your family were some of the nicest, most decent people I have ever met. I want to see you.

Hi, Clay...Kerrie Carmichael here.  I read your post and felt compelled to set the story straight, for my own peace.  I was fired from staff for going on a date with Jay Boone.  I was later rehired and made it to Jr. staff before quitting and moving back to Augusta.  I did have a crush on JC Keever, but once he responded, I stopped liking him (maturity thing, I guess).  Anyway, it was interesting to see the people you have spoke with.  I worked with John Hull and knew Cary Horne, lived with the Rellingers for a few years before moving back to Augusta to attend college.  I hope you are doing well and wish you well for the future...

Hi, Kerrie - It was good to hear from you. Dang, I didn't even remember Jay Boone and apologize for getting the story wrong. I had dinner with Glen S. the other evening and your name came up. He said he had been on contact with you. I am glad you are doing well and to be honest, really happy to hear from you. I miss contact with people from that part of my life. It was huge. I guess that would explain the efforts I go through to find some of them.

Nice use of the aside (), I deserved that.

I was in Atlanta Straight for 14 months from 1983-1984. I 7 stepped the program and was even on staff for a while. It has been almost 20 years since that horrible nightmare of brainwashing, public humiliation, and self-deprivation, and I am only now beginning to deal with the aftermath in therapy. I was there when Chad Kennimore was stabbed in the bathroom with a steak knife and we were not allowed to "process" this even with our oldcomer parents!! I've only now begun searching the net for survivors. I'm sorry to hear that another Straight-like organization took over.

Did you end up 7 stepping the program? And, do you know what's become of Tom Moore?

I know Nathan is an investment banker in ATL. The last I heard of Tom was that he was back in Jackson, MS and working in a porn shop. This was quite some time ago. Spoke with Nathan a year or so ago, but haven't kept up.
