The Seed Discussion Forum / Why Did YOU Stay Away?
« on: October 04, 2005, 10:27:00 PM »
You guys or gals have very clearly put that experience into terms that make sense. The seed I was in was different in someways, but I suppose to over-arching effect was the same - even despite the time difference.

I sincerely thank you for your informative posts.

Amen to that, my overwhelming reflections, thoughts and feelings are of all the people that I met, learned from, laughed (& cryed) with, got to know and regret never knowing. The Seed made such a difference in my life, and yes I was the correct little soldier for many years after I left, but even after years of further research I came back to many of the truths (about myself, nobody else) that I learned at the Seed 32 years ago. (Still) Love you guys!

Because he speaks for himself, as we all do. One of the more important things I learned at the Seed

Talk about yourself and talk about what's important...

I seem to remember wooden chairs (vaguely) I guess I was paying more attention to the raps...

But really now... come one 12 hour days BFD, I remember taking acid & speed & being awake for close to a week once....

Let's not forget we were fuckin YOUNG then eh???

I mean I could go all day on about two hours of sleep, hell I'm 48 now & I still only get about 5 - 5 1/2 hours now...

I'm just a little slower now... just a little

The Seed Discussion Forum / Katrina damage - Looking for the positive...

Hi Guys!
I too regret not being able to get together while Nikki was in the area. But I was happy to get a chance to talk with her and share our experiences. I tried to get in to see what was left of my place in Pass Christian weekend before last and got turned away two days in a row. Marshall Law & they were recovering bodies back in my neighborhood. I did manage to get in this last saturday, I almost wish I hadn't. I thought I was prepared for the devastation, but it is like one of those things that you can be intellectually ready for but not emotionally ready to experience. The excavator & dump trucks were working my street when I pulled up, looking in all directions, not a house was standing... just piles of rubble, trees & refuse. My previously beautiful, shaded tree-lined streets with simple summer & vacation homes was now barren with 60 or 70% of those large beautiful trees gone. Where my house used to be were two large pieces of the roof, sitting on the ground about 20 feet from their original location. The brick walls looked like they had been blown out. Standing in the open area that was the dining room, living room and one of the bedrooms were some things were just laying there on the ground where they had been in the room, two bikes, my tool chests, some of my son's drum set... other things from the kitchen were flung askew in the yard, along with large pieces of two of my neighbor's homes. You could certainly say we were all in this together. I now have a pretty good idea of what a war zone looks like, many thanks to all who have kept all of us so affected by Katrina in your thoughts, prayers and assistance! Love you guys,

Chris

..."Finally, finally, thankyoujesus, YOU get it. Everyone here knows it saved your life - we have known that since day one. What has been missing and has been the basis of most of the posts in opposition to The Seed tactics was any proof of any supporter's understanding that this REALLY DID OCCUR. FINALLY. Thank God."...

I have never denied that I was forced into the Seed, that was always a given for me. But, I was 16 and doing drugs on a daily basis, I would have never willlingly signed myself into the program. That also is a reality. I am, however, very thankful that someone DID force me in, I believe it saved my life. My folks aren't around anymore, so I will thank You Guys... Thanks!

Its Chris Lewis, glad to see you found your way here, sorry I lost touch. I changed jobs about three years back & we stopped e-mailing. I lost my Mom last year so I don't get back to St Pete as often. The other seed kid at St Pete Catholic has been in / out of the site, but I still have not located Dave B********l. Drop me a private note if you would like, I have to apologize about using your last name in one of my earliest posts, I asked the Mod's to go back & edit (it's done).
Glad things are going well, you take care,

Chris
