Nah, the 1850s were just fine. The stamp tax act didn't go into effect until the 1930s.

I think it was used most often as a tea back then, mostly for its analgesic properties.

.

In this country,it was used primarliy in a tincture form, though at a World's Fair in Chicago (I believe....), in the late 1800s, hashish candies were given away by the Turkish exhibitors.  A cannabis tea won't work too well, 'cause my friend delta-9 THC isn't water soluable, but is quite soluable in oils and fats.  It was used for a variety of medicinal purposes, including anagesics, and was often recommended as a treatment for menstrual cramps.  There are reports that smoking marijuana in this hemisphere dates back to the 1500s, when Turkish mercenaries in the pay of the Spanish crown planted it in Mexico, so that they could have access to it without writing home for a care package (UPS and FedEx were notoriously unreliable in those days).
Pot can be put into butter.  Butter can be mixed into milk.  Milk can be mixed into tea.  Voila.  Tastes good too.

We need a pot recepie forum on Fornits.

Has anybody here ever eaten pot to get high? You know cooked. Do you know how much you have to eat to get sick. Not a very efficient use of pot.
Well. You can't overdose.  You can freak out a bit if you're new to it but you won't die.  Emergency room for a pot brownie is total unnecessary overkill.  It'll probably freak the person out even more by implying there is actually something to be worried about.  Best thing to do with a person like that is to get another experienced person to talk to him/her, change the environment, change the music, an explain that while pot can show you some of your fears or even amplify them, it also provides an opportunity to confront those fears, an effect that lasts well after the end of the actual psychedelic experience.

And if you do it properly (extract the cannibinoids from the weed properly), cooking is actually not that inefficient.  Most people just do it wrong and there are a whole lot of bad instructions out there on the internet.  First of all, wen making cannabutter or a tincture, the mixture has to be heated to above 220f but below 260f in order for the active ingredients to be absorbed into the butter or alcohol or glycerine or whatever you're using.  If you go under 220, all the cannibinoids remain in the weed (and can't be absorbed directly into the body).  If you go over 260 you vaporize the cannibinoids and make the cooking worthless.

Personally I recommend tinctures.  Basically you'll end up with a liquid that you can mix into anything.  If you're worried about alcohol consumption, you can use glycerine instead of alcohol.  Put a teaspoon of tincture into your coffee or tea or whatever and you get the same effect of smoking, only it lasts for 5-9 hours.

All that being said the kid should have warned the other kid when he sold the brownie that eating pot is more intense than smoking, lasts a lot longer, and is not for beginners.  Irresponsible on his part but still not deserving of a program (not that anything is).

If you need to smoke it for medical reasons, but don't like the harshness in your lungs try a water pipe.

Or a vaporizer.  Vaporizers vaporize the cannibinoids into a bag without burning anything.  It works by the principle that the active ingredients only need to be heated, not necessarily burnt, in order to be released into the air.  A bag of "vapor" is filled up and you inhale that.  There is no negative health risk (even if it's true that pot can cause lung cancer as that's only speculation).  They make portable ones as well.  It also leave very little residual smell as no smoke is released from the "bowl" and if you blow out into a "spoof" there is no residual smell at all nothing is exhaled. It's basically a "closed system" from the pot to you.

Dude.  You're signature kinda gives it away  "one day at a time".  Same as your old username, SUCK IT.  What's the matter?  You tarnished your last name so much after being exposed as a liar you figured you'd just invent a new name and nobody would notice.  You lied about being blackmailed to make this forum look bad.  You wrote "This thread documents the failed attempt to blackmail me into silence. This is a common occurrence on this forum, beware releasing personal information to people here, say the wrong thing, and that info might be used against you." when in fact you had suffered no threats.  There was no blackmail.

Why should anybody believe anything you have to say.  You probably weren't even in a program.  Just another pack of lies.  It's why you won't provide any details other than the hollow refrain of "the program saved my life".

I really, really don't care what people think about me here. I'll continue to post here even if everyone posts I have no credibility. If only you would release more personal information, they say, you might gain some of that valuable credibility back for yourself. I'm not an idiot, I don't fall for this sort of tactic. But good try everyone, for as much as you complain about LGAT tactics here, you sure are good at it. Irony is not in short supply on this forum. I don't fit in with a band of extremist cult group thinker's who believe in outlandish conspiracy theories and unrealistic idealistic goals based on mythology and generalizations. I think I'll live.

Asking Psy to check the IPs is not releasing personal information.  It's confirming or disproving a whale of a blackmale tale you've already released publicly.  You demand proof from survivors of abuse yet hold yourself to some special standard. This is not an LGAT or an attack therapy session.  You can leave at any time.  You are not being verbally abused.  You are simply being held to the same standard you demand of others after making serious accusations.  The only reason why you would not ask this of Psy is if you are lying and you are in fact PosterX.

I usually ignore conspiracy theories but I'll humor you for a moment. I have dial up internet. That means my IP address changes every time I sign in here. So even if I was another poster, it would be from a different IP address.
Psy could verify or disprove that as well.  Why not ask him to do it?

Hey SUCK IT.  Why not just prove you're telling the truth by asking Psy to check the IPs and see for sure if you're telling the truth about not being PosterX.  Seems to me the only reason you wouldn't do that is if you're lying as everybody already knows.

I was a member of the Anti-WWASP forum a while back and I still keep tabs on related groups and websites.
SUCKED IT belongs to several WWASPS related groups on facebook, which is how I found him. He posts the same crap there as he does here. SUCKED IT's facebook indicated he was posting on fornits, which is how I knew it was him.

I am NOT forcing SUCKED IT into silence.

SUCKED IT has been given a choice of whether he wants the information he posted on the public internet relayed to his employer. If I was his boss I might be interested to know he fantasizes about suicide on his drive to work, dreams about smoking methamphetamine, considers himself a 'lifelong drug addict', and has been in jail and drug rehab.
Did SUCKED IT disclose this information on his employment application?
Based on his reaction so far I think we all know the answer!!  :seg:

I know SUCKED IT is reading this, I wonder if he is thinking about  :suicide: !! :nods:  :roflmao:

I would bet money that the above poster is in fact "SUCK IT".

(CNN) -- The Billings, Montana, City Council will take up the issue of regulating medical marijuana on Monday night in a meeting expected to be intense in the wake of the firebombings of two of the city's medical marijuana storefronts in the last two days.

The southern Montana city's dispensaries legally provide marijuana to medical patients who use it for maladies from glaucoma to nausea to lack of appetite. In the latest incidents, the phrase "Not in our town" was spray-painted on the businesses, police say.

Police Sgt. Kevin Iffland said Big Sky Patient Care was hit early Sunday morning and Montana Therapeutics was the target early Monday. Both had a rock thrown through the front door, followed by a Molotov cocktail. In both cases, Iffland said, the fire was put out swiftly and damage was not extensive.

Iffland said Billings police are working with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and that the two firebombs are being handled as felony arsons carrying sentences of up to 20 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

The attacks on the storefronts come as the Billings City Council considers a moratorium on licensing new dispensaries while it works up a regulatory ordinance.

Sixty-two percent of Montanans voted in 2004 to allow caregivers to grow marijuana for qualified patients, but the state law said nothing about distribution. In that absence, municipalities and county governments began licensing the establishments on their own.

But, Iffland said, Billings was ill-prepared for the number of applications and has very little regulation in place. Billings, he said, is a town of about 100,000 and has had nearly 90 applications for medical marijuana storefronts -- and some residents are angry. He fully expected a heated council meeting.

Meanwhile, investigators are still reviewing evidence in the firebombings and are working with one of the businesses that has surveillance video but is reluctant to hand over the tape because of privacy concerns.

While the investigation is ongoing, police have stepped up patrols in the areas where the medical marijuana storefronts are located, Iffland said.

Christ, he is hailed as the one who had an answer to hurting kids and parents. he became like a god to his followers. he is enshrined and kept alive even today, he died in 1982.
I know the type. No person has a right to own an other person. When kids start rebelling it's natural and healthy.  They're figuring things out for themselves.  Amish let their kids go at this age to do what they want for a while.  Kids do drugs, have sex, and so forth.  Usually they come back (pretty fuckin good sucess results).  These nutballs, on the other hand, believe that their kids are their property and they can forceably teach them what they want.  If they disagree they are evil and need to be controlled.  That's not Christianity, that's dictatorship by a theocracy.  It applies to a real family as much as it does to what these moral majority type lunatics try to do to government policy.  He thinks that his religion is right and he has a right to force it onto another free thinking person.  He says he believes in free will but he's violating people's rights to choose and be judged by god if there is one.  He's been, basically, just believing what he's been told without actually figuring out things on his own.  Faith without reason is reckless fucking abandon.  It's best to use the reasoning ability that god gave you, if there is a god.  See.  I'm an agnostic.  There is a distinct difference.  I'm not sure either way.  Whatever the case, I just try to be nice to others and if there is a god, i'm sure he's not an asshole.  Asshole god would definately suck.

Actually. The bible says nothing at all about drug use.  Some claim it qualfies as "gluttony" while others claim the bible specifically states that cannabis is a good thing:

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so." And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Gen. 1:29-31)
