Hi Stefanie,

I'm sorry I've said these things about you. I did hate you at one point and so did you, but we're not 17 years old anymore. It's in the past.
Write to me.
Love,

Matt Shakespeare,
I don't want to get into the discussion of whether you were arrogant or not, you probably were, but then again, it doesn't matter. I just want to ask you WHY you've chosen to be a staff member in Elan. You don't have to answer it here, I probably won't access this site for another while, e-mail me and we can talk about it. ([email protected])

It's just that I could never see myself going back to work at that place. And I do have a pack full os feelings reguarding to my experience in Elan, althought they are back in the past and I've moved on.
  Love,
       Má

Hey Whitney,
What's up?
I've been living in São Paulo for a while. I've quitt posting here, cause I don't have much time to catch up with messages. It's like, you get into a discussion and you get criticized, then it's an ongoing circle. I love polemics, that's why I study Political Science.
Anyways, you can feel free to write me at [email protected]. I'd love to hear from you Whit, as well as from other E-7 peers.

Take Care, dude.

Hey Jen! Sorry I didn´t e-mail you last week, had to study for my mid-terms, but hopefully this week I´ll find time to write you a decent insightful e-mail. And Kate... I should write, I know. I´ve been so so busy lately with work, college and everything. But I haven´t forgotten about you guys. Wish I could have gone to NY with you, it must have been fun. It´s difficult to make it to the States, it might take long but I´ll make it for a visit.
   Peace!

That's sweet! Cali must be wonderful, I've always wanted to go there, never got the chance. I'm glad you're happy with your new job and new place, that's the most important thing. Santa Monica is meant to be pretty cool, at least that's what I've heard. I've moved as well, I now live in São Paulo, transferred to a new uni, got a new boyfriend, new friends, a new life and I'm happy about it. Take care and never forget your friends dude.
   Peace!

I'd love to join your new site but I'm not aware of it? Please send me an invitation through e-mail as soon as you have time. By the way... How's your new baby girl?
Peace!

Dude, I miss Alina! She SP´d my home visit in Brazil, we are very different but she´s a cool girl. The last time we´ve been in touch, she was living in Massachussets, still that was a few years ago. I wasn´t friends with Alex or Andrea but it´s not as hard to find their contact numbers. We were probably in E-7 at the same time.  Who are you?

   Peace!

Hey... It´s been a while since the last time I´ve checked this forum. In a sense I guess I got tired of it. Doesn´t mean I got tired of people. I miss my friends: Kate, Syn, Tat, Amanda, Justin, Matt Erwin, Jessica, Jordan, Jenny, Valerie, Jen, Chris, Melissa, Alina, Angie, Jim, Adam, Sarah, Peter... and the list goes on.
In case any of you were wondering, I´ve just moved to São Paulo, transferred my uni, got a new boyfriend, finally got to live near my family. Let me go ahead and post my new e-mail address, you guys feel free to write: [email protected]. I´d rather recieve e-mails than posted messages, I promise I´ll write back. You guys take care!
  Peace!

Elan School / Another perspective of Elan

I admire the teachers of Elan in particular for dealig with all the pressure imposed by the Elan education system and at the same time for their willingness to teach "the bad kids" for such low pay.

I'd actually look forwards to school time, since I felt so miserable in the house. School was the only time when there was no dichotomy, no fucking pull-ups, no arguing. We were just students trying to learn something. Most teachers there were extremely caring people.

I don't like the Elan educational sysytem and in my opinion, knowledge is something that can't be censored. You can't blame a teacher for encouraging his or her students, or simply for being liked. Tha basis of the Elan educational system is rather weak and I've had to do a lot of studying on my own in order to catch up with the other college students. Still, it's given many people hope for their futures. It gave us something to believe in as far as academics.

My favourite teacher was Mrs. Rourke. She was so caring that she used to visit Elan for X-mas and Thanksgiving. She used to go see me when I was on the corner and talk to me. When she moved out of Maine, she gave me her new address but Elan didn't give me permission to write to her and I don't have her address anymore. Does anyone remember her?

  Peace!

I guess it's because Elan 7 used to be so uptight. Living in the females dorms was a real fucking nightmare, people were more concerned about what others were doing wrong than actually having some decent quality conversations. Things were different in Satellite / Outreach, you guys were more confortable with each other. Whatever you guys did different, we'd wonder: "Are they allowed to do that?" There were ppl that just booked you because it'd make them look good, plus it was easier cause there'd no confrontation. The shit was so fucking petty it's not even funny. But trust me, they're really good people.

   Peace!

Josh Magnuson was a real chill dude. When he got a house switch to 7, I was surprised because Claire made it seem as If he were a "monster" during his 3 house. He was actually one of the few males I happened to get along with quite well and never got accused of playing games with. Speaking of which, who remembers Josh Lanzara? He was my good friend, he even sat on my couch but I never really got a hold of him. If anyone happens to have his e-mail address or something, please e-mail me at [email protected].

  Peace!
