Apparently, Operation UNITE conspired with a major drug dealer at the University of the Cumberlands sometime last year to frame 10 other students for selling dope.

I read a comment on another website several weeks ago that UNITE was harassing people who had absolutely nothing to do with drugs. I don't know how accurate that information was though.

Isn't Teen Challenge pretty much known to be a cult?

When Dan Lungren was California Attorney General, he tried to have somebody sent to prison for selling an anti-DARE t-shirt.

What an asshole!
Is there a link about it..?

This was years ago - maybe around 1995 or 1996.

Somebody needs to remind these desperate folks they are in america and have to figure out a way to deal with crank and pills and all the Kentucky Meds they are looking at...with out becoming fascists....

Problem is, they've already become fascists, and they control the legislature.

Operation UNITE's big causes lately are trying to outlaw Sudafed and trying to pass a law to require Social Security recipients to take a drug test.

Does anybody know whether Operation UNITE (a congressionally backed militant "anti-drug" group in southeastern Kentucky) has anything to do with Straight-related programs?

They're conducting a screwball rally in Frankfort soon, and I want to know whether they have Straight links.

Kentucky doesn't have any real senators, and my district doesn't have a real congressperson.

No congressperson. Just a scumbag masquerading as one.

I wasn't in Straight, but I was in a different program. I don't know how helpful my information is, but I think there's some similarities.

I developed post-traumatic stress disorder about 3 months after I left the program. I think this is because of being harassed at the high school I attended previously, and being called delusional and a liar when I told program staffers about it.

Now my teeth have practically rotted out of my head because the program drugged me heavily.

The PTSD also led to other severe health problems, which has resulted in chronic underemployment.

So-called hospitals commit insurance fraud to keep kids locked up longer. Happened to me, happened to lots of people.

I'm 37, but I'm through giving a shit what the parents' side of the story is. Unless they're anti-program.

Is psychiatric hospitalization better than a program?

1.  Psychiatric wards have edible, non-moldy food and real live canned beverages.

Children's Psychiatric Hospital of Northern Kentucky doesn't.

Why don't parents say, "You want a cell phone, you have to maintain a part time job to pay your own cell phone bills!"

I guess they think it's easier to just put them in a program.
