I started out rocking out to mostly Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd, but I remember near the end of my 9 months there it was more Neil Diamond and even that Frank Mills song, Music Box Dancer.  My lowest low in rocking out was Chariots of Fire  :skull: I used to move at least my right hand fingers to play piano tunes of stuff like that.  I was either constantly pushing piano keys or flicking my right fingers playing along with those awesome Steve Harris bass lines.  Of course, no one ever knew that when I was motivating I was actually playing the drum intro to Running Free... the Nicko McBrain version fromt the Live After Death album.

Well, I applied it to myself & ran it through my steps & did a moral inventory & asked my higher power & my spiritual awakening was that I am damaged goods

Well I sure am glad it wasn't elephant balls.

I should add: Yes, I think we are as fucked up as you are.  But, I think revelling in our angst and bashing the founders and executives is the greatest thing for us.  Plus, it's fun.  Just doing stuff like that with other people coming along backing it up makes me feel awesome.  We get our kicks out of doing it, but we realize we are correct in the process.

Is this lyrical genius misbehavor on this site somewhere?

I hope it is just temporary that "it is back".  I think of it as working myself out of a maze, but it's always the same maze.  The more I work through the maze the more I memorize it, and the quicker I conquer setbacks.

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / Those Queasy Emo Goodbye Raps
« on: June 25, 2003, 01:30:00 PM »
"Overwhelming orgy of grief"   that's funny.  I never was emotional like that, but I know what you are talking about, even though I never saw a goodbye rap that I remember.  We had other stuff happen.  I think most of them were actually finding those overwhelming grief outbursts in their devastation over being in Straight.  That's just the idea I got from it.  The things coming out of their mouths had nothing to do with why they were balling their eyes out.

there is something which I haven't read yet about how it took 76 violations to shut down the VA Straight.  I guess in a foreign rehab, they get to stay in business with unlimited violations.

Web forum hosting / Bandwidth Hammering
« on: June 20, 2003, 08:58:00 PM »
How significant is the bandwidth waste if I were to sit and hit Refresh on a page of someone's site all day?  How much to I have to do it to run their bill sky high to the point they have to shut down?  It's just an average page with three of those usual rectangular banners on it and a few other small graphics.

Any ideas on if there's any such thing as an auto refresher so I don't have to sit and do it manually?  Do any alternative web browsers come standard with an auto refresher?

Straight, Inc. and Derivatives / another bad thing
« on: June 19, 2003, 02:34:00 PM »
I went to Northside Hospital's mental ward twice while on first phase.  I was also in another place called Rapha for 2 months after I withdrew from Straight.  Both of those places had long hallways.  I paced those halls every chance I got... sometimes for a solid hour.  Everyone thought that's just part of why I was nuts and in a mental ward.  Yeah they were right.  I was nuts from being in Straight.

I withdrew from Straight right before I turned 16 in January 1989.  My current occupation is still sitting up straight in a blue chair, motivating, waiting to get called on, and misbehaving.  At least I don't get thrown on the floor anymore.

Jamaica is an excellent location for the Program because it offers the benefits of a foreign site

Benefits of a foreign site... I think I know what they mean by that.  I'm sure it is beneficial to THEM in the sense that they don't have to worry about being shut down by courts in the US.  They don't have to worry about parents snooping around or being tempted to just show up & withdraw the kid.  They don't have to worry about escapees ever finding a way home.

oh yeah none of those free hosts will let ya store images there & show them elsewhere anymore.  Tripod won't. Geocities won't. I guess all of 'em won't.  I forget all the ones I tried to do that with.
