Our Experience with Bethel
« on: May 04, 2005, 02:48:00 PM »
I traveled to Bethel with my son to admit him in Sept. 2004.  I was very disappointed when I drove past the pretty little church. Other than a cape cod office, and a cedar mess hall, the campus consisted of two brick dormitories that were the size of small offices and a trailer like school building.  The dorms and trailer were surrounded by high chain fence topped by barbed wire.  We choose the school based on it's claim of 25 years of experience.  Changing names and moving was not what I considered.  If anyone is likely to discount what is on this site-- look on the Jackson, Mississippi Clarion for articles.  Note the quote from the Fountain's that "parents who send their children to Bethel by aquiring a second mortgage on their home are "trailer trash" who want to throw away their children".  My concerns and questions were ignored by phone, mail, and fax for 3 months.  I did not get any attention until I traveled down to take my son home.
