New Forum From the People who Founded Straight?
« on: November 01, 2002, 12:41:00 AM »
I just noticed this today, the DFAF, the alleged current incarnation of the non profit foundation that was behind straight inc. has started their own forum as of today. Betty Sembler founded the DFAF in 1996, and Jeb and Columba Bush sit on the board of directors/trustees.

They can't make you sit down, they can't grab your beltloop, and they can't tell you what is or is not a feeling anymore.

Keep in mind that these people have no compunction about legal bullying tactics, so if you post there, choose your word with caution.

Hmmm the link worked fine for me today, but you can easily get there by visiting dfaf.org, and then following links to the forum section.

I made note of Bingo's post on my site.

I blogged that corporate record link.

That to me, is the key record for a class action suit.

Yup, I just went to look and see and it seems that our level of honesty is a bit to high for their tastes.

I am not really sure who they expected to come and post to an open web forum on their site, most people that I know have little or no time for such exercises in triviality.

It was fun to read the truth being published on their own site for a day- frankly I am suprised it lasted so long.

You got that right, DFAF is running scared now. I hope this is a sign of things to come. I am writing to the white house, they may be interested to know about their DFAF buddies censoring partially public property. By closing the forum, could they be admitting all of our stories to be true and this action of theirs may be a godsend of sorts? MG8

Um the IRS might find it interesting what happened, since they are already in potential hot water for refusing to release documents during an in person visit from aformer client.

If you look here there are rules about public disclosure for 501 c 3 tax exempt organizations. Read through it, and then file your own request if you like, the address is on the dfaf website.

I would suggest that if you choose to make a request, that you send it via certified and return receipt requested- so that you will be notified and have a record of when they receive your request.

You might want to send a duplicate copy to the IRS, to the local DA, to the Justice Department, and to the ST. Pete Times as well.

There is specific information about which forms they must release by law, and the time span and charges that may be applied to such a request- follow the rules and be polite.

Keep in mind, I am not telling anyone to do anything, merely informing you all of your rights as citizens to request such information from any 501 c 3 tax exempt organization.
