Well, if the surveys are correct, that would mean roughly 150,000,000 people who could potentially turn themselves in. If even only 10% turned out, it would bring the DOJ the rest of the way to it's knees.
I'd do it and take my chances if I thought that even 1/10th of my fellow once upon a time tokers would do the same. The trouble is that everyone in the world, including (maybe especially) Americans, are scared shitless of the US Federal government. I mean, come on! If they can jail Tommy Chong for merely investing in a mailorder bong company....
And it's not because we lack the power to make this right. It's that we lack the will and courage to do it. We'll just sit around watching survivor and fear factor while roughly 7 million young lives are seriously complicated each year by arrests for something that around half or more of us have done and that we all know is not a crime.
