Congrats and good luck!!

This is a good place to tell your story about the 'real HLA' so other parents might not make the same mistake.

Of course, if there is pending litigation, you may want to check with your attorney first to determine what is appropriate.

Hi.  Please ask your parents if it would be alright to register your families complaint against HLA. http://www.isaccorp.com /or e-mail at isaccorp@ yahoo.com- Attn:
Shelby Earnshaw.  We need all the help we can get.  They investigate schools and place them
on a watch list for other families. Thanks.[ This Message was edited by: juniper on 2005-04-26 15:41 ][ This Message was edited by: juniper on 2005-04-26 15:44 ]

have you read my story of the strip search issue? it is on one of the HLA boards and under anonymous. I know how much that sucks. Believe me. I was in PG 52 and thank God I got pulled also. Do you know if they are still doing searches like they used to or not? I would really like to know.

i don't think we can do anything about it.  we had a lawyer look at the issue but hla makes the parents sign some form saying they won't talk about the school or some crap like that...

George,
If your Mother has concerns as we did, have her contact Isaccorp.org.-- Shelby Earnshaw. First
and foremost, tell her you are not manipulating,
rather telling the truth.  One has to weigh the good attributes of the school verses the bad ones
for each individual student.  The problem is they
treat all students the same.  They are not suppose to have court ordered children at the school;  HLA also states they do not accept
severe behaviorally troubled teeens.  The last
few months have proven that is not the case.

They have had several attempted suicides, children
beating up other children, and  several court ordered children. THe parents are kept in the dark, so they operate as they wish.  Everyone
is forbidden to talk about the school.

As far as strip searches, they continue.  HLA
feels they have no choice.  Although parents do sign a document, nowhere does it state 'strip
searches' shall be done, only urinalysis.

Have your mother read the warnings signs for
abusive schools(varying degrees) on isaccorp.org.
before tomorrow.  It may help.  Good luck.[ This Message was edited by: juniper on 2005-06-05 11:44 ]

I graduated 2 years ago, it has been a a long time though. good luck with your lawsuit. I think a better aproach is to get as many people to write about their expierences with HLA and weed out the positive ones if they exist.  I keep in contact with people who they have quoted, and they promise that the quote was either taken out of context or that it was not their words.. either way, it isn't right.

Just to let you know, HLA did nothign for me that i wasn't on my way to doing anyhow.  I was a S.T.A.R.S. student, however this didn't mean i was cured by any means.  shortly after "graduating" HLA I flunked out of college [due to a lack of preperation] and last summer I had gone back to illegal activities.  nonetheless I have been able to mend my ways, only this time I didn't have to suffer through twenty-two months of crap.  I do think that some people there need help, but HLA isn't the place to give it.

feel free to contact me wit questions..

This is off topic but does anyone know if they are still using the firepit to burn tires anfd old matresses? I remember the fire Marshal being called on HLA more than once for it. I was wondering if they ever got into trounle for it. Is anybody out there from PG 25-30?

Not sure about the burn pit but would like to hear from anyone in peer groups 25-30.  I worked up there during that time.  Hope everyone is doing well.
