Suicide
« on: March 11, 2005, 10:13:00 PM »
I have a scar from cutting my wrist at age 18. I remember when I did it, the doctors laughed at me while giving me stitches. I had cut it the wrong way.

I also drove my car in a storage unit and left it running. I woke up in a tube like thing in the hospital.

I dont know why I have suicide on my mind all the time. I think about it at least 2 times a day. I gave up on it cause I believe God will take me in his time cause when I try and end it. I screw it up.

Does anyone else have or had this problem? I know why I carved on myself in Straight. Who wouldnt? But after Straight?

I don't know. I've heard essentially the same thing from a lot of ppl who went through this form of "therapy". I don't suppose it helped matters any to have the doctors laugh at you, either. But then that was probably nothing compared to the "therapy" you got in group, either.

How do you learn to not think about something you've become acustomed to thinking about so often for so long? I dunno. The only advice I can think of is to read up on the topic. Find a better muse; different ways of thinking about the same issues. If one author isn't doing it for you, put it down and pick up another book.

A drug is neither moral nor immoral - it's a chemical compound. The compound itself is not a menace to society until a human being treats it as if consumption bestowed a temporary license to act like an asshole.

Anon, please get yourself some professional help. You don't have to feel this way and you deserve not to.

I haven't entertained a serious suicidal thought since I began zoloft 2 years ago. And I used to think about it ALOT. I'm not saying it's for everyone, though.

Did either of you have these feelings before Straight?  Do you feel in any way that Straight contributed to having  these thoughts?

I never had thoughts of suicide before Straight. In Straight I misbehaved. Carved on myself while I was in Straight. I dont know if Straight has anything to do with my thoughts now. I would love to figure it all out and fix it! It was after Straight I cut my wrist. I was sent to some mental hospitals.

Would you two be willing to tell me your stories by email.  I would not reveal your identities without your permission.  Do I know one of you?

Thanks
