Survivors and the Cult of Victimization

So why are you here?

To find someone or something to blame?

To heal old wounds and move on?

To meet up with old friends and talk about the fun times at Straight?

To convince yourself through sheer numbers that you are still a victim of Straight?

I think it's OK to recognize what happened to us was horrible, cruel, and unjust.....but to let it affect us now just continues to give Straight even more power over us than it had back then....

I'm interested in survival and coping strategies...let the healing begin.

I still hate those responsible for abusing me during my formative years....but living well is the best revenge.

It's not about revenge, though, not first and foremost--it's about healing my mind and learning how to live well, without limiting myself because of what I went through.

Good luck and love to you all.  Oh yeah, and massive bong loads of TBPITW.
