Webpage Database That's Needed

I've been reading some threads on setting up a webpage with a bunch of this info here that's being lost.  

I know that when I set out to look at the state licensing and complaints filed against particular facilities, it was difficult digging through all of the gov's layers to finally get the right person/office.  So, it'd take some work, but a good page would be a State one with links to all of the official licensing contact home pages so parents can send inquiries or look them up.  I thought, geez, this is a bunch of work, if you're looking at several programs in different states, and if you're a geek on the internet it would not be an easy task to do.

Other thoughts are a page for the particular facilities that we have rock-solid info, news, reports, pending/completed legal cases.  A place with all of the info so parents can look and see for themselves.  

Then, since the backbone of this whole industry is secrets behind closed doors and shutting down communication, the webpage could act as a "neutral place" for kids to get in touch with other kids, staff, neighbors, of a particular facility.  Rather than just happening to catch a thread that might be here or there, it'd be a consistent spot where they could look anonymously or directly.

I can host it for free, as it's own domain name, under my account.  What would be a good name?  Anyone out there with some time that wants to research or do web design?  I use Front Page, since I don't know html that great!

It's needed.  I ultimately just looked for forums and that's how I arrived here!

This is good.  I didn't know about them.  Maybe we just need to promote them more, they aren't easy to find on searches!  Lemme check 'em out.

One thing that would be helpful- A page for each facility which would include such things as:
Are they licensed? Links
Do they actually belong to the associations and accreditation organization they claim? Links
Specific accounts of peoples experiences.
A copy of the parent manual/contract along with comments re: any discrepencies in policies.
How many of the criteria do they meet which describe a potentially abusive program.
Any lawsuits or complaints of abuse against the facility. Links
What types of abuses have been alleged. Links

I'm working on this. It'll take time but I'll begin to make requests of members here re: various stats I'll be collecting, along with State by State information, laws re: these programs.

Please send me ideas about all the data you might want on such a site.

So far: State by State:

listing of every facility I can find;

 with licensing info (and the meaning of the licensing info spelled out);

owner information;

actions taken against them or their parent company; (let me know of any you know of)

signed testimonials from former program participants and parents re: facilities positive or negative.The fresher the better. Signatures will remain anonymous, required for me or a group of us to verify the testimony. (please send these, there are a lot on Provo, not that I would discourage more, and a good deal on the worst of WWASP, so I'd like to hear especially  from others and especially from those whose experiences weren't GROSS ABUSE but nevertheless abuse - like unlawful detainment, inability to communicate with outside world, especially lawyers or to make complaint, dangerous facilities, verbally abusive and/or undertrained staff etc...

Same for former employees of these programs!!!!


State/Local agencies and particular parties to contact with concerns;

Listing of contacts people have made with these agencies and the outcome, i.e. CPS, DHHS, Attorney Generals - so please keep track of these everyone and send them to me;

 
Broad coverage of degree of oversight by state and explanation of related political issues.

IPAC what it does and doesn't do.  Which states abide.

Statements and links to all the major national mental health players re: these programs

Relevant studies



News articles

Activist alerts

Parenting information - alternatives to these programs and parenting education

Teen mental health information - information focused on diagnoses or behaviors that land kids in these programs.

Also, I don't mean to dismiss the links above which are all great sites with great information and I hope we can cross-relate. I just notice lots of information needed that's not listed anywhere, particularly in one place.
