Hi Krys...
You might be starting with a false assumption or two.
I got in a rather heated argument with the Director of the Sleep Disorders Clinic at Mich. State University over this. (are you still awake?)
Most medical authorities with any specialty in the field agree that people fall into one of two "categories": "Night Owls" , or "Morning Larks" (figuratively speaking, obviously).
Thus the phrase "...I'm just not a 'morning person'..." (sound familiar?)
My thesis is that "Insomnia" DOES NOT EXIST, not as an actual medical diagnosis, anyway.
It isn't like malaria, arthritis, or a broken arm. It isn't a "tangible" sort of "illness".
What is called "insomnia" is actually nothing more than a SCHEDULING PROBLEM.
Because you are, obviously, a "night owl", that conflicts with what society says you've gotta do. ("be up at 7 AM").
What happens when you are on vacation, or have a long weekend off of work??
So, you sleep until noon, who cares?
What if you worked the night shift, say, 10PM to 6AM, then slept 'till mid-afternoon??
Would it still be a problem??
That might actually be a good solution for you, though I realize not everybody has the freedom to just up-and change jobs.
What if you were "your own boss", say freelancer, or your own company, work your own hours...
Anyway, good luck with it. Don't be too hard on yourself: the rest of the World is wrong, not you.

7:45 AM Friday (up all night)
TO "DRUGGIE FRIEND":
Try this, see how it works, and report-back to us:
At the same time, take:
6 Vicodin tabs
6 Xanax
6 Valium, 50mg
6 Oxycontin
6 Pheno-Barbital (or similar)
6 shots good whisky
... I've kept all the quantities the same, so you don't get confused.
When you've taken all the above, roll a nice big joint, light it, lay-back and relax.
Let us know how it turns-out...
Mike S.
