yeah i went there for a year... i guess i was just so naive to the stuff that went on there... i honestly wanna say if i never went i would be so messed upo now. but i've gotton in contact with some of the girls and it looks likemvca didnt help them at all.. i guess god had a different plan for me... no i know some of the bad stuff that went on there. and if some one asked me i wouldn't recommend it. i was there with nikki lemus and like mia borrego... victory does nothing but brain wash your kids.. all i have to say is pray before you send your child there... the place is messed up in a whole lot of ways

I was there from 1990-1992. it was really terrible the way they treated girls and the emotional and mental abuse they perpetrated on girls who were just trying to survive. I really would like to do something to expose and shut down the place...

hello,
my name is Vanessa, i went to Victory in 94 -95 (i think) I always wondered if i was just over reacting to the trauma of going to this place. And for the first time today I decided to do a little research and found all this.
I left that place and really never looked back so in doing that forgot a great deal of what went on there. I would love to talk to some of the girls I went through there with somehow.
Victory did not work for me in regards to keeping me from drugs and the life style I was living that got me there. I left there and a year later getting kicked out of school again, my parents put me on a plane to send me back and I bolted on my layover flight in Dallas as a run away! Thats how badly I refused to go there again. I went on to become a heroin addict on and off for the past... well pretty much starting a couple years after leaving there. I am good now in fact very good. I sought after my own help and see myself as a great success story. I look back and can see that living through that place has contributed to who I am today and for the most part, most days, I wouldnt change that. So yea the place is fucked and bizarre and scarry and is something i hope not many have to experience. Point is there are great places to provide help to people who are ready for the help. This place isnt one of them.

I was in the California VCA in 1988-1989? Is there anybody from that time out there?  I remember Miss. Virginia, Miss. Yesinia (who was a former student), Brother Brown & Mrs. Brown, Brother Palmer & Mrs. Palmer, and Brother Cook & Mrs. Cook (the teachers).

I was at VCA from 90-92. I remember Miss Virginia, the Palmers, and both sets of Brownes... Is this your first attempt to reach ex-VCA survivors? There's a whole bunch of us now....

Just stick around others tend to drop in. You may also want to check out the ISAC-corporation  site. They're a watch dog group for the troubled teen industry made up of survivors of various abusive programs. They have a VCA page - here. If you feel comfortable you can write a testimony(survivor statement) about your experience to raise awareness and help other survivors. It's my opinion that vocal survivors equate to a neutron bomb in regards to the power of their voice, both in it's ability be a light in the darkness and it's ability to cause mass-destruction for X program.

After learning of Rebecca Ramirez story I realized just how bad VCA was...the stories of abuse are not just limited to her and there are a lot of girls still being submitting to this treatment.  I am trying to get together as many girls as I can accounts of what VCA was like for them so we can work together to get VCA shut down so these girls can get the help they need not end up with deeper scars and problems from brainwashing and abuse. Please cotnact me at [email protected] if you want to help

Hi, My name is Dorothy (Foster) Delaney, I attended VCA from Dec. 1994 – June 1996.

I woke up from a nap this afternoon with VCA heavily on my mind. I’d looked in the past for people I went to VCA with but really didn’t get to far, until today, I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who walked away thinking and that was supposed to help me? Well in all fairness I learned some of my best fake it until you make it moves from VCA, but besides that, I didn’t agree with a lot of when on there or of what I saw. However, I miss the girls dearly, Carrie Palmer, April Sweet, I remember you! I worked yard crew with you! Gosh so many girls.

VCA is an experience that only those that were forced through it can understand. I’d love to talk to anyone for anytime at VCA.

Best to all,
DD
