Hey Kosmonaut, just read your post today.  I did basic starting Jan 10, 1983.  The M1-Abrams was still brand new so we got to train in old M60-A3 upgraded Viet Nam tanks.
It was pretty cool, because we were allowed to beat the shit out of them and chase after deer and run over small trees and stuff.  I was pulled from my gate 3 test just 6 days short of Graduation on a forced section 8 under the Trainee Discharge Program.  They said I had a "Personality Disorder" when in fact, I was an active Manic/Depressive.  Under normal circumstances, I would have been treated by mental hygeine and reassigned
but we had a President who told starving inner city school children that ketchup was a vegetable, so what could you expect?  I would have gone to Germany also, but the whole situation was out of my hands.

haha, "mental hygiene"... I forgot they used that term.  Jeez.  I ended up going to Germany and it was insane.  Maybe it was better that you didn't have to go!

naw...sobriety doesn't really suck...it's just boring.

No matter what everyone might tell you, life does get boring if you don't have an occasional endorphin release, caused by alcohol, drugs or the herb.  :smile:

You couldn't be more accurate in distinguishing the difference, it is refreshing to see.

I beleive Dr. Newton got stoned. He always had a certain glimmer in his eyes that revealed it. heheh, right on. Maybe the kool aid was lace with cid? hehhe, the funniest thing is it all sucked. What a waste of time for me and everyone else I knew between the years of 81 to 84 in St. Pete. Like to hear from anyone out there. Peace, Jeff

I totally agree with you brother, sobriety does royally suck. I hate people telling me what to do or throwing there opinions on me just because of societies bullshit. I put up with being in straight for over three years, the way I figure it, I've been doing alot of making up for long time. Time to smoke a bowl, later Peace
