Just Got out....
« on: May 09, 2004, 10:34:00 PM »
Hello everyone,

Just wanted to say that I just got out of RMA, I left when i was through my imagine.  My parents finally decided that it was time to take me home.  Things are going great.  Even though RMA was a rough experience... I did create a great supportive relationship with my parents.  If anyone has questions, dont hesitate.

See ya,

B-Man

Share your story with us!

What was the experience? What did or did not happen? Why did you go? Why did your parents finally pull you out?

Register, if you dare. If not, its okay to go anonymous. Many many people fear retribution from those places if they speak out about the abuse.

And, welcome back to the real world. If you need someone to talk to, we're here for ya. And if you need a real therapist to handle what went down - we could probably find some resources for you.

DannyB on the internet:I CALLED A LAWYER TODAY TO SEE IF I COULD SUE YOUR ASSES FOR DOING THIS BUT THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE.

CCMGirl on program restraints: "DON\'T TAZ ME BRO!!!!!"

TheWho on program survivors: "From where I sit I see all the anit-program[sic] people doing all the complaining and crying."

Imagine (from when I was there)

Before the propheet started each member was brought into a room by themselves with two couselors drilling you for information that you know about the propheet.

Next part I believe you go into the propheet room and do your standard propheet introduction which entails dirt/disclosure cop out etc.

For the next 6 - 8 hours you sit in a circle where one staff is facilitator and the other plays "bad cop" which varies from doing distracting things, reading magazines, making smart ass comments etc, for the most part the sidekick is inactive during this section and is silent.  Basically just to mess with you and get you to talk.  They encourage you to talk about feeling issues, etc but whatever you say here is the wrong answer and everything you say will get questioned and argued with in standard cedu rap fare.

After this is where my memory fails me.  I remember them playing the song "Working class hero" by John Lennon over and over again but I do not remember the context of the exercize.

This workshop sounds a lot like prisoner-of-war mind control - Iraq and elsewhwere. They annoy,  irritate, intimidate and discount you and your feelings until you break down and join them - give them what they want - reject your beliefs and accept theirs.

I would like to hear more about these CEDU "prophets." Anybody out there have some experience to share?

Who cares what happened in the imagine. If you were there, you were there, if you weren't, you missed out. We all agree that propheets and workshops are a bunh of bs, so why go there.
the imagine was all about Rock Bottom anyways.
