It is a popularity thing. We all know the different named programs were caused by the same people each time.
Straight is the "famous" one. Many people think of "Scared Straight" (GIMMIE THOSE SNEAKERS YOU PUSSY!!!!),the program where at risk kids were filmed in a prison being berated by inmates.
If you dont know what Straight is,you probably think you do.Its a famous word "Straight".(LIFE sounds like a retirement trailer park in South West Florida, not a torture cult.)
Wes is about making money so he can buy more batteries for his short wave radio. It has taken many years of attacking him about this, and yet today there is barely a mention of LIFE on the Wes website.

If you are so pissed about it, why don't you do something about it?   Start your own fucking website about LIFE?   You are damn right!   LIFE needs more attention.   Get off your ass and bang your own fucking drum.  Don't whine about Wes.  His kid was in straight, so his research is primarily about straight.   Duh.   You were in LIFE.  Write about , expose and shout about LIFE and the inhumanities that took place there.  Expose bitch Helen Petermann and her cronies.  Make their life a living hell. Make them long for death so they can be at peace.  Quit you bitching.

First, to the bitter anon...Wes is a friend of mine. Wes has never made a dime off of his website and has flown around the country on his own nickel. In addition, Wes is not involved in any manner in this website.

Life was a part of this story, an important part especially since offshoots of life exist to this day. You people are the only ones that will be able to tell it.

Wes's son was in straight, and he sees the story from his own perspective, just as you do.

Get it? You think something needs to be said, take responsiblity for saying it.

Actually, there's quite a bit of mention on thestraights.com about Growing Together as well as some bit of history on LIFE. The thing about Straight is that it got so damned big. There were like 23 branches and variants at one time. LIFE was one of those.

Here's the thing. Wes is not a timid man, but who the hell wants to get sued? He's not going to put anything out there that can't be documented and meet a solid standard of verification.

You can start your own website. And/or you can provide documentation and corroborated statements to Wes. As GT is, once again, making headlines I'm sure there's interest in the history of the program.

Because BEFORE I found this board,I thought I was "the only one".
Do a google search for:
L.I.F.E.
or
Life Is For Everyone

and you will come up with NOTHING,but type in "Straight" and you get piles of stuff.

I was in LIFE.

I remember some of those staff names also, and for some reason the name Monet struck me as familiar.  Was she the bigger girl with the short blond hair?

Yeah Monet was a short girl with blond hair.  She came into the program about a year after me.

Yep, I think I remember her.

When I first made 6th phase, like literally the day after, we were having one of those 6th phase meetings and she was the first girl I actually go to "talk to".  Of course, that day was the day they made the decision to not allow 6th phase guys and girls to associate anymore.
