FLORIDA HOLOCAUST MUSEUM PROTEST SATURDAY
« on: April 02, 2004, 12:22:00 PM »
I have been informed that there will be a protest at the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday, April 3 from 1145 AM to 1245 PM. All are invited to participate.   The protesters agree with the spirit of commemorating the the remembrance of the Holocaust, but they have issues with this particular Holocaust museum.

The protesters  will be protesting  the hyprocrisy of the founding of the museum by Walter Loebenberg who is the former president of Straight Foundation;   the appointment of former Straight board member Dr. Bruce Epstein as a director of the museum; and the prominent roles played by Straight founders Melvin and Betty Sembler in the Florida Holocaust Museum.

I am traveling and having connection problems to boot.  "theStraights dot com" will cover the event early next week.  Ginger Warbis will be covering the event on "fornits" in near real time as still  photos are phoned in.

Thank you,

Wes Fager

Stay tuned for the next exciting adventure!

I'll try to be up and dosed w/ coffee by 11. Otherwise, I'll start updating pictures somewhat later than that!

The first images are coming in.

Anyone know these folks?

Either cocaine and marijuana are terribly dangerous substances, and breaking the law by consuming them is a major offense that should be severely punished, or these are minor, personal matters that do not really count in the big picture of a man's life. If the latter is the case, then the rationale for a bloody, costly and futile war against drugs simply disappears.

Yes, they're calling for Bruce Epstine's resignation. And, btw, one of the folks just called to make sure I'm getting the images ok. Wanted to reitterate that they are NOT protesting the Holocaust Museum. They're protesting the museum's board of directors decision to retain certain members who played significant roles in Straight, Inc.

Folks just checked in. They went inside and gave the people there some printed material explaining what they're about and assured them that they will not block people from entering, they only want to deliver a message.

This is the first (of many) protest at the museum location. The object is to blow the cover of those folks who, in the opinions of the protesters, are only pretending to be good, humanitarian pillars of the community by their affiliation w/ worthy organizations like the Holocaust Museum.

Any comments?

"The FARC is part of the history of Colombia and a historical phenomenon", (President Pastrana) says, "and they must be treated as Colombians". ... They come and ask for bread [aid from Washington], and you give them stones.

Is protesting at a holocaust museum akin to a pro-Nazi rally?  Regardless of how you try to spin things, it would seem so.  Heil Fager?  Extremely poor choice for a protest location, spin or not.

ANON - A moot point. This topic of discussion was debated to death in a thread months ago. If someone in the know could be so kind as to provide a link to that thread, perhaps this shit could be nipped in the BUD. Yes. I like the thought of that! Fuck yes!!!

PS - I think that Drugdolh Hitroll would have some interesting comments on this issue.

I  think a little more forethought should have gone into this.  Although the protest in and of itself may not be a bad idea, carrying a sign that reads, in bold letters, "Stop Your Lies" in front of a Holocaust museum may cause a casual observer to think the protesters were revisionist Nazis trying to claim the Holocaust never happened.  These things could be more effective if things like that were thought out in advance.  When is Newton's deposition and is there a protest planned for it?

Well, you've got a point there. Perhaps a better choice of wording would have been desirable. But I think that ANYPLACE is a good enough place to protest straight.
