Parents Can't Avoid Accountability
« on: February 17, 2004, 03:01:00 PM »
Society should prevent the most egregious abuses of these programs, certainly.

However, when we seek that goal it's easy to get discouraged and forget that the program parents are not getting away with what they're doing.

Program parents have to face the consequences of their bad choices--the consequence they cannot avoid--the mind control wears off and the grown child calls the parents to account, by ending or substantially limiting the relationship.

The parents *are* being held accountable and will continue to be held accountable, irrespective of their self-serving fantasies.

There is, at least, a small measure of justice in the world.
